22.01.2022 Большое спасибо Театру Зеркало за новый спектакль Kогда приходит инспектор Интересная интерпретация классической пьесы Пристли. замечательные декорации. сцен...а оформлена как изысканная черно велая фотография, символичное пространство в котором двигаются актеры как шахматные фигуры. Понравился гармоничный актерский ансамбль, именно ансамбль, в спектакле нет главного героя.все актеры не сходят со сцены в течении всего спектакля. сдержанная стилистика актерского исполнения работает на общий замысел спектакля. Спектакль Елены Греен далек от социального контекста постановок советского времени,этот спектакль о человеке, о двойственной природе людей, о выборе,о последствиях, об ответственности. Монолог инспектора обращенный к зрителям -апофеоз спектакля. без излишнего пафоса но сильный и запоминающийся как и весь спектакль. Яна Динкина

19.01.2022 There is something VERY IRONIC about the Zerkalo Theatre Studio production of Priestley’s play An Inspector Calls. Priestley’s play first premiered in Moscow, Soviet Union in 1945 before being staged in London. The adaption by Zerkalo would have BEEN BANNED in the Soviet Union. The play - a story about an inspector who interrogates a wealthy English family about their responsibility for the death of a young working class factory girl - when first delivered in the Soviet Uni...on and to the London audiences with their fashionable love of socialism, was riddled with pushing the guilt of the girl’s death on THE UPPER MIDDLE CLASS. The play was seen as just that a dig at the opulence middle class and their (for the fashion of the times) built in evil. The director of Zerkalo Theatre Studio Elena Green has stripped away the (then) fashionable classist themes of the play to discover a play that has a more developed conversation about judgement and guilt. The play is now less judgmental and bone pointing, rather it sees the human side of our faults with circumstances often moving us around like pieces on a chess board. The production has captured the essence of this play of Priestley THAT EVEN THE AUTHOR HAD TRIED TO HIDE..that perhaps in our lives sooner or later everyone sits down to a banquet of consequences (*). This production would never have survived the rigors of the Soviet Union. And the irony that Zerkalo Theatre Studio is a Sydney theatre company drenched in the history and culture of Russian Theatre. This "English" play will be presented in the language that it was first performed - "Russian" (**), but we know it would not be to the liking of the Soviet Union culture bureaucracy. Well, this is Australia AND WE DON’T CARE. 05.01.2022 THERE HAS TO BE ANOTHER WORD FOR PROFESSIONALworks like hell, passionate, dedicated to an art - but still not getting paid - but it needs a different word. Gavin Waring, the husband of Tatyana Vengerovskaya, who in our new production of An Inspector Calls plays the mother Lydia Birling (yes, we have changed the character first names!), claims that we are missing a word in the English Language TO FILL IN THIS GAP. Gavin said that the passion to get things right for the ...play goes beyond the pales of not for profit or amateur. Tatyana has studied theatre for years. This is not a case of learning the lines and performing at the local Glee Club, it’s about a pure dedication to theatre. Gavin is often "woken up at 3am with a REHERSAL GOING ON BESIDE HIM WITH THE BEDSIE LIGHT ON" and the comment is don’t worry darling, I have remembered just how I should rehearse this part... The production has captured the essence of this play of Priestley THAT EVEN THE AUTHOR HAD TRIED TO HIDE..that perhaps in our lives sooner or later everyone sits down to a banquet of consequences (Robert Louis Stephenson). Gavin puts up with it. When finally he saw the previous production of Zerkalo Theatre Studio - "Stars in The Morning Sky" - he knew it was all worth it - FOR GREAT THEATRE.
