Single Touch Payroll is an ATO initiative that will require ALL business owners (yes, even less than 20 employees) to report salaries and wages, PAYG withholding and superannuation to the ATO each time they pay their employees.... Once legislation is passed it will still take a few days to receive royal ascent the last step in enacting the law. Reports now have a Drop & Drag function that allows you to reorder the columns as you see fit. Just drag the heading to the position you want to display. Greg fought a long, yet courageous 3-year battle with Cancer. He was at peace and with his family. Our love goes out to his family. Greg was the driving force behind Zerobooks, being one of the first in the cloud accounting community to embrace 100% cloud. He made a huge impact in the bookkeeping & accounting industry by creating efficiencies thr...ough software automation. He was an incredible man, one we respected deeply. He was a friend, mentor & all round nice guy. Every day he inspired and motivated us to be better versions of ourselves. 05.01.2022 COVID-19, Government Stimulus and JobKeeper Payments The Australia Taxation Office opened the registration for Businesses to enrol for JobKeeper payments. To be eligible for this first payment registrations must be lodged with the ATO by the 26th April 2020. Whilst you may have already registered interest, you still need to enrol. Businesses can only enrol if they have had a decline in turnover, your business has experienced or is likely to experience a fall in turnover of a...t least 30%, at least 50% if your turnover is more than $1 billion, or at least 15% if you are an ACNC-registered charity other than a school or university. If you are fall into this category, then you must enrol for the JobKeeper payment before the 26th April, 2020 to receive the April payment. The steps are as follows; Step 1 Enrol for the JobKeeper payment Step 2 Identify and maintain your eligible employees Step 3 Make a business monthly declaration Registrations need to be lodged by 26th April to be eligible for April payment. Each of these steps can be completed by you, the business owner, by logging into your Business Portal using your myGovID. They receive income as a partner or by way of a trust distribution or dividends. 03.01.2022 As of this weekend, Xero will be changing the way they receive their support queries. If you're used to emailing them to get assistance, you will be redirected to their new Xero Central at support.xero.com. This enables you to keep track of your questions & answers, see who's looking after your case and its status.

03.01.2022 COVID-19 - Centrelink/Services Australia If you already receive Centrelink, DO nothing, dont call or go to the Centrelink offices. The phone lines and offices are experiencing high numbers. Both of the recently announced payments of $750 x 2 payments for concession holders and an extra $550 coronavirus payments will be automatically applied to you if you are eligible. Have you lost your job or been stood down?... You if are applying for Centrelink dont go to a Centrelink Office. Setup and login to your MyGov account go to www.my.gov.au . Once setup then login and find the link to the Coronavirus forms. Any payments will be backdated. You can also add this App to your mobile phone or other devices. When setting up MyGov accounts you will need a lot of information in front of you such as your licence or medicare card and your last ATO notice of assessment (NOA) from your last lodged tax return.
