17.01.2022 Hidden just below the Asok BTS steps is a gem of a shop. All the world's fabrics in the welcome reprieve of air conditioning. Many an hour has been spent perusing and choosing. So, when I dropped in for a visit, I was greeted with such warmth and recognition. So lovely to be part of the neighborhood again.

10.01.2022 Racing down Rama Four on the little zippy Fino, there's time for one last drop in to see Khun Ton, the tailor. His team are hard at work but there's always room for a chat and a smile. I even got a grin from his gorgeous little lad. So cute.

09.01.2022 Bringing Ra Threads to you. Part One Waking up in a hidden gem of a hotel, in behind busy Sukhumvit Road. The view stirs such memories of Thai family homes I've known and loved. The boutique hotel is right next to a more traditional, old family home and estate. This is a rare glimpse of wooded, green areas and gardens, yet still so close to being right down town. With so many condos, so many business towers surrounding, this little oasis of green is a welcome reprieve. ... A wonderful way to start and end each busy day here. An oasis of calm in streets full of 'busy'. Heading out today to chat to Mr Ton and his tailoring team. With a bit of luck, I'll get a cuddle with his new baby too.
08.01.2022 So, here's the fun bit of making Ra Threads happen... The focus of the day is meeting with the community of people, all with their own part to play in bringing us to market. Today the trek to 'Yawaolat' or China Town and Sampaeng Lane begins early.... It all starts with the MRT, or underground train to Hualalompong. From here, the journey is by motorcycle taxi to Yawaolat Junction. A wild ride through narrow or busy streets. Sampaeng Lane, here we come!! Stay tuned. Let's see what turns up here...

07.01.2022 Success!! We found him. We found Ton, the Tailor and his team. We met his new little man and he's such a character. He giggled from his mother's arms as Papa arrived on his motorbike. As we spoke about the new line of skirts and congratulated the quality of the last set, this little bundle of energy danced around daddy's legs. So cute. The new place is impressive too. Not only does it have the family home up top, but also lots more space for the team to create as well.

06.01.2022 A hair raising trip through China Town streets, in all their gilded glory, and I made it safe to Sampaeng Lane. Diving into the busy commercial laneway, can be an intense experience but if you're thinking of heading there yourself, here are some hot tips. Weave through the throngs, the sounds, aromas and of course, those amazing colours with a sense of adventure. Enjoy the ride, meet the people and soak it all in.... On the way, don't forget to stay hydrated and have the occasional snack (available on cart at regular intervals for the open minded eater). Keep your valuables close at ALL times and above all, don't forget to smile.

02.01.2022 This gorgeous lady, after hearing I'd never tried lotus flower seed, peeled half a dozen or so for me to try. It's these moments that make the journey such an adventure in not only sights and sounds, but flavours too. The half kilo of limes were especially juicy and fresh as well.
