09.01.2022 Paleo Orange Cranberry Bread . Ingredients: 2/3 cup coconut flour (this measurement only works for coconut flour) 1/2 tsp of baking powder... 1/2 tsp of baking soda pinch of sea salt 1/4 tsp of cardamom 1/4 tsp of cinnammon 1/3 cup of raw honey (OR 1/2 cup of raw honey if you like it sweeter) 6 large eggs (always at room temperature) 1/3 cup of melted coconut oil 1/2 tablespoon pure vanilla extract 1/2 cup of freshly squeezed orange juice the grated zest of one orange (it really elevates the flavor!) 1 cup of fresh cranberries . Instructions Preheat your oven to 350F & line a large loaf pan with parchment paper In a large bowl, combine all the dry ingredients together and give them a good whisk. On a smaller bowl, combine the wet ingredients together and mix well. Integrate wet mix into the dry ingredient bowl. Fold in the cranberries & the orange zest Pour batter into the loaf pan, use a spatula to even out the top surface. I like to sprinkle a few cranberries directly on top. They will warm up, pop in the oven & make for a beautiful loaf. Your house will also smell wonderful! If you got walnuts or raisins, you could also sprinkle them on top or fold them into the batter. Bake for about 45-50 mins or until center is cooked through. Insert a toothpick or knife into the center of the loaf to check for doneness. . . . . #cranberryandorange #loaf #paleo #delish #healthyfood #healthyrecipes #kidsinthekitchen #zestio #recipes #delish #cookingwithkids #baking
09.01.2022 Homemade Floam (slime x foam) . Floam ingredients: 2 tsp of borax 1/2 cup of warm water & 1/4 cup of warm water- divided ... 2 oz of white school glue 1 & 1/3 cups of polystyrene beads (bean bag filler) . Method In a bowl combine 2 teaspoons of borax with 1/2 cup of very warm water. Mix until the borax is dissolved. In a separate bowl combine 1/4 cup of white school glue with 1/4 cup of water. Add several drops of food coloring or liquid watercolors if color is desired. Once the ingredients of both bowls are mixed pour the glue mixture into a zip seal bag. Add the polystyrene beads, and then add the borax and water mixture and seal the bag. Once sealed mix the ingredients in the bag well until the floam is formed. You can use more or less of the borax and water mixture to create different floam consistencies. Use more borax for a stiffer and more mold-able floam. Use less borax to create a more slime-like floam. We wanted a stiffer floam, so we used all of the borax & water mixture. Mixing the floam is really fun for kids and is an activity all in itself. After lots of mixing you will have FLOAM! We repeated the above steps to make a variety of colors. To get vibrant coloring you will want to add A LOT of food coloring. 06.01.2022 Clay impressions So you will need CLAY and a very smooth surface to work on. If you have a clear bit of plastic table cloth or a very smooth kitchen cutting board-either will work. You also need some flowers or plants, a rolling pin or water bottle that has smooth sides. Later when the clay is dry you may want to use some craft paint to add the green or flower color. Also if you want to turn it into a mobile or wind chimes you might need a chopstick or skewer to poke a hol...e in it. Our clay is from the dollar store craft aisle. We just slice off chunks and made different shapes with it. Then we rolled it flat. Next we place a bit of plant or flower onto the clay and rolled over it gently with a smooth water bottle. Pull the plant off the clay and admire the details now imprinted in the clay. If you want to add a hole-this is the time to grab your kebab skewer or chopstick. Allow the clay to dry overnight. It should feel completely dry before you paint it. I just used regular craft paint. This would be a lovely gift from a child to a teacher or grandparent. Its a great craft for all ages though. I highly recommend for adults to give it a try. Its very therapeutic! This project has a lot of possibilities so let your imagine go wild. Find things around the house with interesting textures to imprint the clay. Enjoy . . . . #natureplay #learningthroughplay #playtime #fun #happykids #healthykids #creative See more
