25.01.2022 Forget about old fashioned scales! I prefer to use the MetaScan QuadScan which provides fully body composition analysis. This gives me and my clients the ability to track progress and assess changes at a cellular level as they progress on the Metabolic Balance program, which tells us so much more than a number on the scale.

23.01.2022 I will never ask my clients to do anything I'm not prepared to do myself. Which is why I put myself on the Metabolic Balance program. I've been documenting my progress since I began back in July, and I've been blown away by the results, so I'm sharing my diary so you can get an insight into what to expect, and how the program might be able to help you too.

20.01.2022 When we eat carbohydrates, the pancreas releases insulin. Carbohydrates are quickly converted into glucose for immediate energy use. But we can only use so much. The role of insulin is to convert those excess carbohydrates into either glycogen - the storage form of carbohydrate in the muscles, or into fat - stored in fat cells.... This is why eating a low-fat, low-sugar or calorie-controlled diet that's still high in carbs could be sabotaging weight loss efforts. Here's some of my favourite low-carb swaps! 06.01.2022 Christmas is just around the corner, and the next month will be a busy one for many. So if your calendar is a blur of festive planning and social outings, make sure to balance out the Christmas cheer with some healthy self care too, like: -Keep a water bottle with you at all times to stay hydrated, and drink water in between any alcoholic drinks -Schedule quiet time at least one day a week for resting and relaxing, to give those adrenals a break... -Aim to have at least a few days a week where you prioritise home-cooked whole foods over eating out or festive foods -If gym isn't on the agenda, make time for incidental exercise and functional movement, like walking, lifting and swimming, a few times a week.
