07.01.2022 Ever looked at a KB swing and thought what the f&$k is that? Gave it a nudge then stuffed it up ? Well well well have we got something to help you, coach Deb giving you the basics ... #Repost @ballet_barbells_debbi with @make_repost Kettlebell swings done properly can help reduce or prevent lower back pain but it is an exercise people are scared of because it is so often done wrong. Don't run before you can walk! You need all the pieces before you make the jigsaw. The kettlebell swing is an awesome full body exercise which builds strength and power and gets your heart pumping. It strengthens the posterior chain and the core and builds a booty! It is built from a good hinge combined with an explosive snap to a standing plank. Hence, you can practice all the elements of it before you start to swing. Practice your deadlift until your hinge feels familiar and strong. Get explosive towards that ballistic swing action by practising hip thrusts. Find that strong straight standing position where the kettlebell effortlessly floats by practising the hardstyle plank. Once you have all the ingredients you can put them together with the right timing and you have a good swing. Remember a recipe doesn't always turn out perfect the first time, so keep practising and consider getting a good coach to help you get there quicker and program swings effectively for whatever your goal is.
