22.01.2022 Photo tips Yes you can hold the cat to take the photo. Just crop yourself or your helper out of the picture. Think about how stewards and judges hol...d your cats and kittens at a show to get a good look at them and these poses will make for good entry photos. You can use photos from shows with judges handling your cat or kitten. If you cant get your cat to pose or you are home alone why not set up a show cage and pop your cat in it. If you put it on a table with the door open then stand back and lower yourself the cage level you can get some good body and face photos. Here is a great tip from one of our exhibitors. To enter cats that live in outside pens (like that gorgeous but shy stud cat you dont show) put a table in the pen and pin show curtains or fabric or a towel etc behind the table. Pop a cage base on top and get the cat on the table then take the photos. This is great if you have a cat that is comfortable in their own area but wont relax if you took them out to take photos. Use your couch. Cover it with a sheet or blanket as a backdrop and get the cat to walk across it as you take photos. Cat teasers are great to get a cat to look at you for a photo. If you dont have one grab a toy with a bell or anything that rattles. Lastly we are not judging the photos. We are judging the cats. So focus on getting a photo of your cats front profile and one from the side showing the body. Our judges wont care if a litter tray is in the back of the photo or someones arm. We dont mind if you use your phone or a fancy camera. We just want to see your gorgeous cats Ready to enter?
