23.01.2022 Seventeen new cases of COVID-19 were diagnosed in the 24 hours to 8pm last night, and one previous case was excluded following further investigation. This bring...s the total number of cases in NSW to 3,890. There were 20,083 tests reported in the 24-hour reporting period, compared with 14,815 in the previous 24 hours. Of the 17 new cases to 8pm last night: One is locally acquired with no known source One is a returned traveller in hotel quarantine 15 are linked to a known case or cluster: o Eight are linked to the August CBD cluster o Six are linking to St Paul’s Greystanes the source of the original case at St Paul’s remains under investigation o One is linked to Liverpool Hospital There is now a total of 49 cases associated with the CBD cluster. One previously reported case, who worked at Cubbyhouse Childcare out-of-school-hours centre at Homebush Public School, has been excluded following further investigation. People previously identified as close contacts are no longer required to isolate for 14 days. Two more students at St Paul’s Greystanes and four contacts have tested positive, bringing the total cases associated with the school to 10. The school has been cleaned and remains closed for onsite learning today. The source of the original infection is under investigation. As reported in the media yesterday, a student at Girraween Public School has tested positive. The school will be closed for onsite learning today for cleaning, and contact tracing is underway. NSW Health is treating 75 COVID-19 cases, including five in intensive care and three who are ventilated. Eighty-seven per cent of cases being treated by NSW Health are in non-acute, out-of-hospital care. Cases attended the following venues. One case attended the Four in Hand Pub, 105 Sutherland Street Paddington between 6.30-10pm on 26 August. Guests who attended the downstairs at this time, for more than two hours are considered close contacts and must immediately get tested and self-isolate for 14 days since they were there. Anyone who attended the following venues or public transport is considered a casual contact of a case and must monitor for symptoms and get tested immediately if they develop. After testing, you must remain in isolation until a negative test result is received: Four in Hand Pub, 105 Sutherland Street Paddington guests who dined upstairs only or for less than two hours on 26 August from 6:30-10pm. Metro Fuel Greystanes on 27 August, 3.15-3.35pm Big Bun, 260 Pitt Street Merrylands, 27 August 3.30-4pm Carslaw Building, University of Sydney Camperdown toilets, 28 August 8-8.20pm Stockland Merrylands on 29 August between 9-11am Bus 810 28 August departed St Paul’s Catholic College Greystanes 3.04pm, arrived 3.28pm Macquarie Rd opposite Boothtown Reserve Greystanes Transport for NSW has dedicated cleaning crews across the network, including deep cleans and real time cleaning across all services. COVID-19 continues to circulate in the community and we must all be vigilant. It is vital people get a test as soon as they develop symptoms not two or three days later. People should ensure that they stay at least 1.5m from others and that they wear a mask in situations - especially on public transport - where physical distancing is difficult. Locations linked to known cases, advice on testing and isolation, and areas identified for increased testing can be found here: https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/latest-news-and-updates. Anyone identified as a close contact and directed to undertake 14 days self-isolation must stay in isolation for the full 14 days, even if they test negative during this time.

21.01.2022 NSW Health is calling on people in the Hawkesbury and South Western Sydney areas to get tested if they have COVID-19 symptoms after the state’s sewage surveilla...nce program detected traces of the virus at two treatment plants. In South Western Sydney, NSW Health is looking closely at the suburbs of Belimba Park, Bickley Vale, Bow Bowing, Brownlow Hill, Camden, Camden Park, Camden South, Carrington Park, Catherine Field, Cawdor, Cobbitty, Currans Hill, Elderslie, Ellis Lane, Gledswood Hills, Glenmore, Grasmere, Gregory Hills, Harrington Park, Kirkham, Mount Annan, Mount Hunter, Minto, Minto DC, Minto Heights, Narellan, Narellan DC, Narellan Vale, Nattai, Orangeville, Oran Park, Raby, Rossmore, Spring Farm, St Andrews, Smeaton Grange, The Oaks and Varroville. Areas of interest in the Hawkesbury include Agnes Banks, Bowen Mountain, Grose Vale, Grose Wold, Hobartville, Londonderry, North Richmond, Richmond, Richmond Lowlands, Tennyson, The Slopes and Yarramundi. The closest testing clinics to West Camden are: Camden Hospital, 61 Menangle Rd Camden, 8.00am-6.00pm, seven days a week 14 Queen Street Narellan, 8.50am-5.00pm, Monday to Friday. The closest clinics to North Richmond are: Regatta Centre Drive-through, Sydney International Regatta Centre (enter via Gate B, Old Castlereagh Road, Castlereagh), 9.00am-12:30pm and 1.00- 4.00pm, seven days a week Penrith Drive-through Clinic, Club Paceway (enter via Ransley St, off Mulgoa Road), 9.00am-4.00pm, seven days a week. Finding traces of the virus in sewage samples could mean there were active cases nearby. It can also mean there are recently recovered cases, as people who have previously been infected can continue to ‘shed’ virus fragments into the sewage system for up to four weeks after they have recovered. The most recent cases in the West Camden catchment were reported in September, but no one living in the North Richmond catchment had recently tested positive for COVID-19. For more information on the NSW Sewage Surveillance Program, visit: https://www.health.nsw.gov.au//c/Pages/weekly-reports.aspx It’s vital we all continue to maintain physical distancing and keep up good hand hygiene, and anyone who is feeling unwell isolates and gets tested without delay. A full list of COVID-19 testing clinics in your area can be found here: https://www.nsw.gov.au//how-to-protect-yourself-an/clinics, or call your GP.

07.01.2022 Four new cases of COVID-19 were diagnosed in the 24 hours to 8pm last night, bringing the total number of cases in NSW to 3,981. There were 9,316 tests reporte...d in the 24-hour reporting period, compared with 14,426 in the previous 24 hours. Testing numbers have dropped over the past two weeks, which is a concern particularly in areas like South Western, Western and South Eastern Sydney. Of the four new cases to 8pm last night: Three are overseas travellers in hotel quarantine One is locally acquired and linked to a known case or cluster The new case is a close contact of a previous case who attended the Eastern Suburbs Legion Club. This person had been in self-isolation while infectious. While there has only been one new locally acquired case recorded in the past 24 hours, the virus is likely circulating among people in the community with mild symptoms. As such, the risk of outbreaks and a resurgence of cases remains. It’s vital that everyone who does have the virus is tested and diagnosed, in order to stop further spread to others. NSW Health is again urging anyone feeling unwell even with the mildest of symptoms such as a runny nose or scratchy throat to come forward and get tested, so cases in the community are identified as quickly as possible. This is even more important with the upcoming school holidays, when people will travel across the state. Locations linked to known cases, advice on testing and isolation, and areas identified for increased testing can be found here: https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/latest-news-and-updates. NSW Health is treating 81 COVID-19 cases, including six in intensive care, three of whom are being ventilated. Eighty-eight per cent of cases being treated by NSW Health are in non-acute, out-of-hospital care. COVID-19 continues to circulate in the community and we must all be vigilant. To help stop the spread of COVID-19: - If you are unwell, get tested and isolate right away don’t delay. - Wash your hands regularly. Take hand sanitiser with you when you go out. - Keep your distance. Leave 1.5 metres between yourself and others. - Wear a mask on public transport, ride share, taxis, shopping, places of worship and other places where you can’t physically distance. COVID-19 testing clinics can be found here: https://www.nsw.gov.au//how-to-protect-yourself-an/clinics, or call your GP.

07.01.2022 Nine new cases of COVID-19 were diagnosed in the 24 hours to 8pm last night, and one previously reported case has been excluded following further testing. This ...brings the total number of cases in NSW to 3,937. There were 12,494 tests reported in the 24-hour reporting period, compared with 10,129 in the previous 24 hours. One new case is a boarding student at Kincoppal Rose Bay School of the Sacred Heart. As a result, additional students and staff have been identified as close contacts and are in quarantine. All cases at the school are linked to the CBD cluster. One new case is a household contact of a previously reported case linked to the CBD cluster. There is a total of 66 cases linked to this cluster. The two healthcare workers reported today worked at Concord Emergency Department and contact tracing is underway. They reported having no symptoms while at work and wore personal protective equipment while caring for patients. Seven people associated with Concord and Liverpool Hospitals have now tested positive for COVID-19, including six healthcare workers. Investigations into the source of these infections are ongoing. While the number of locally acquired cases recorded in the past 24 hours is low, the virus is likely circulating among people in the community with mild symptoms. NSW Health is treating 83 COVID-19 cases, including four in intensive care, two of whom are being ventilated. Eighty-six per cent of cases being treated by NSW Health are in non-acute, out-of-hospital care.
