24.01.2022 Well Folks, a little bad news for the club. While she hasn't danced with us for a little while, we are about to lose Annette Gadd. She has made the huge decision to move to Tasmania to be near family. She will be at UpBeat Chaos at Deception Bay next Monday the 22nd February with some square dance apparrel for sale. I'm sure we all will wish her the best.

24.01.2022 Just had a conversation with Ausdance. While we are required to adhere to the new 1 person per 2 square metre rule. The 1.5 metre "social distancing" seperation is a recommendation not a requirement.

23.01.2022 Some good news. Only 1 week until we return to dancing at Zillmere. 7pm for Plus - 7.30pm for Mainstream. Covid safe rules apply. We have plenty of hand sanitiser & disinfectant. We can't supply supper, so please bring your own refreshments. Please appreciate that if you are at all unwell, we'd rather you didn't come dancing. But we hope to see you next Thursday the 4th February

22.01.2022 Sorry Folks, you know why, but the rest of the dance year is cancelled. As of today (21st August), the number of covid cases has more than doubled and Aged care centres are in Lockdown and more restrictions have come into play. I'm not going to make any plans for October or November, I can't keep this emotional Roller Coaster going any longer. I'm gonna aim for a start in February 2021 and cross my fingers.

21.01.2022 They tell me (on the news) that it is supposed to be cooler and dry today. Let's hope they are correct and we can have a fabulous dance tonight.

21.01.2022 Fingers crossed, with a little luck , we may be allowed to dance (with some covid safe rules) towards the end of July. Maybe we'll plan for a re-start in the first week of August.

20.01.2022 ***Attention***Attention***Attention***Attention*** Well, we were hoping that the Pandemic would be sorted by now, but it's not. Today (20-May 2020) the QCA Exe...cutive, in conjunction with the organising committee from Hervey Bay have had to make the decision to "postpone" the 39th Queensland State Convention. It will still be in Hervey Bay and it will still be the 39th Convention, but we are looking at dates somewhere around August 2021 Standby for more information as it comes to hand. See more

19.01.2022 Just in case you didn’t see the news this morning...

17.01.2022 Good on you Robyn

17.01.2022 All safe at Northside

16.01.2022 It's a shame, but is for the best

16.01.2022 Well, last night was going to be our first night back at Northside. Instead, I had an early night, I think I'm getting used to this. I do miss dancing & calling.

15.01.2022 O.K. Northsiders, only a few hours to go. 329 days since we last danced at Zillmere. I hope we'll see you there

13.01.2022 According to Qld. Health , we can now have 1 person per 2 sq metres indoors

12.01.2022 Well, it had to happen eventually, the lousy rainy weather got to everyone. To be fair, there were a few medical issues this week as well. We had 10 dancers through the door. Not enough for Plus but we did dance 1 square for Mainstream. Great to have John and Liz with us for the first time this year. John also won the Chocolate. The Joker draw was held over, no winner and no increrase for next week, it stands at $75. I did a few request songs and we did finish early. All those who danced tonight have been offered a free night next time they come.

11.01.2022 Another really hot night, thanks to all the dancers who made the effort to come out. I know the air con at home is very tempting. 23 dancers in the hall. Great to have Mike back on the door. I tried out quite a few new Singing Calls and a couple of new Hoedowns. Played with LH Spin Chain Thru quite a bit, dancers had fun. Desiree missed out on picking the joker, it jackpots to $65 next week. Barry won the Kit-Kat. We did finish a little early due to the heat. But at least it was dry - no storms and lashing rain.

08.01.2022 I've just measured up the Buffalo Hall today. When we recommence dancing, it has a capacity of 37 people, assuming 4 SqM per person. This should not present a problem as we usually don't dance 37 people.

08.01.2022 Okay Folks - This is not a decision I make lightly All dancing at Northside Promenaders is cancelled. We will RETURN TO DANCING on the 23rd April 2020... (we weren't dancing on the 9th & 16th April anyway) I didn't want to have to do this, but from phone calls and emails received, attendance is going to be way down and we do want to keep everybody safe. Making a small sacrifice now may prevent bigger consequences later. I will ring and/or text everybody at club later today

08.01.2022 The next National Convention - Goulburn N.S.W. 2022

08.01.2022 Fabulous dance night at Northside. 2 squares for Plus and 3 for Mainstream, 27 dancers through the door. Great to see Heather & Barry for the first time this year and they brought Judy & Theresa from Gumdale with them. Did quite a few requests and some new songs. The heat was a little down, so enthusuasm was way up. Elsa missed picking the Joker and Mayet won the Chocolate. We talked about the panic of the Covid-19 virus and decided that we would not contribute, we danced as usual, with all the usual greetings.

08.01.2022 You guys are gonna be in for a treat if we ever get back to square dancing. I have so much new music that we haven't danced to yet.

07.01.2022 We have some new dancers interested in square dancing I've managed to teach them a little during our enforced isolation. I hope you'll make them welcome

07.01.2022 O.K. folks, I can't fight it anymore. I have absolutely no idea when square dancing will re-commence. I've tried to be positive about this lock down, but it has proved futile. Social distancing makes it impossible to dance and with Qld. health unable to return emails, we are in limbo. I hope we'll be back at dancing soon. I'll talk to you all shortly.

06.01.2022 To all the Northside Promenaders dancers. Thanks for your support, even though we have not been dancing recently. Even as the club returns to dancing on the 6th of August, circumstances may not be right for some of you to return just yet. Know that we'll all be glad to see you when you feel the time is right. Also, our best wishes to those that are going through health issues, we hope for the best possible outcomes for you.

05.01.2022 Another great night at Northside. 30 dancers through the door + 3 partners not dancing for medical reasons. We danced 3 squares for a lot of the night. We welcome a new member Neil, he was with us last week but has decided to become a member. Great to see Glenys and Sue M. last night. Sue will be doing a bit of calling in coming weeks. Viv had a birthday yesterday, still came dancing after her family celebration. Elsa won the members draw. I tried out a few new Songs & Hoedown tunes. Thanks to Faith for doing the door, Rosalie was not well.

04.01.2022 Just spoke to owners of the Hall at Zillmere. It is owned by the Royal Australian Order of Buffaloes. Indicatiing that we are anxious to return to Square Dancing. They are in the same boat as us, they cannot utilise their own building because of the social distancing rules. So we wait and hope that the next phase of lifting of restrictions will enable us to return to the activity we all enjoy.

03.01.2022 This just in - think about it

03.01.2022 Our good friend Margaret Baines is ill, please keep her in your thoughts.

01.01.2022 We'll be back at dancing before you know it

01.01.2022 It was our first night back - 329 nights since we last danced. 31 dancers through the doors - we danced 3 squares most of the night. Yes, I was a little rusty. The new members draw did not go off, so it will jackpot for next week. Great way to start the year, lots of smiling enthusiastic dancers.

01.01.2022 Another good night. Everyone had Margaret in their thoughts, but we all know that she would have wanted the dancing to continue. Afternoon storms ensured that it was still hot & muggy. 2 squares for Plus and 3 for Mainstream - 26 dancers through the door. Thanks Faith, for taking the door at short notice. Also great to have Nev & Noela from The Redlands visiting with us last night. Also good to see Rod & Margaret on the dance floor. Barry missed picking the Joker and Shirley won the chocolates again.
