12.01.2022 Our members are proud to show their support for the Latrobe River Irrigators Inc by flying these fantastic signs on their property fences. This is Richard Croo...ke, a fodder and beef cattle producer and irrigator along the Latrobe River. Richard produces top quality Grassfed beef cattle for domestic and export markets and supplies fodder to local dairy farmers for their cattle to turn into milk. Like other irrigators along the Latrobe River, Richard is concerned about the current proposal to fill mine voids with fresh water from the Latrobe River which could otherwise be used to grow food for people. Richard could produce more beef and more fodder for local farmers if he had access to more permanent irrigation water. Agriculture is considered an essential service, with food production being critical for national security. So why not use Latrobe River water to grow more food instead of wasting it on filling mine voids when other options for mine rehabilitation are available. Water = Food **Please remember to like and share our posts with your networks to show your support. ** #justaddwater
