10.01.2022 I wanted to write my thoughts about why I do 6 week challenges (with my clients and personally). They aren’t about a quick fix weight loss solution. A 6 week challenge is about setting the structure to change habits, both good and bad. By setting a predefined window of time and having regular accountability check ins, we’re able to change your default lifestyle habits. Once the challenge is completed, hopefully, the initial resistance to change has been overcome and the inte...rtia of new habits have been established. So next time you see a challenge, don’t think, Oh another quick unsustainable weight loss challenge through starvation and overtraining. Think, Ah, an opportunity to look at my current habits and set a foundation to change them to better ones! This particular client is a 58 year old female, who struggled to put on muscle. We managed to achieve a 2kg increase in skeletal muscle mass and a 2kg drop in body fat mass. The biggest thing we focused on with this client was education around nutrition and eating habits. This has set the foundation to continue building muscle mass for injury prevention and healthy ageing.
