14.01.2022 Growing up on a farm, receiving ‘Look’ magazine in the post was my introduction to painting in between visits to the city, when we would scrub up and put our best outfit on to visit the Art Gallery if NSW and have lunch in the members lounge, it’s a delight to follow this tradition with my own daughter and being a member gives me access to a world outside my own studio. Hence, I was completely floored when, during covid, this magazine that had informed so much of my long an...d windy path from Crackenback to the wonderful world of art, invited me to create a work, inspired by Matisse and his philosophy of ‘calme’ in Painting. 05.01.2022 So grateful to be the recipient of the 2020 Calleen Art Prize, selected by, Stephen Alderton, Director of The National Art School. The exhibition continues until November 15 at The Cowra Regional Art Gallery. It is beautiful line up of emerging and established artists. Soon I’ll be able to show you my finished studio thanks to the very generous donation from the Calleen Trust. Thanks to Gallery Director, Brian Langer and the Fagan family for a great weekend of food, art and wine in Cowra, not to forget Jude Cook who inspired the painting x
