09.01.2022 TRIBUTE Today we pay tribute to a legend of the CDFCW, our Development Manager, Mr. Scott Stevens pictured below in action on the field sporting CDFC guernsey a few short years ago as a player for the senior men’s team. Scott’s involvement first began as a player in 1989 - 1998. Later in 2005 his involvement began in his current role as the Development Manager for CDFCW. ... Scott started playing football at age of 5 in Mini league at Angaston Football Club and so began his passion for football. Scott originally became involved in women’s footy when CDFC had the Talent Shield competition which also became part of his current role. Scott was working at SANFL at the time and the role became available and thought it would be great to work for the place where he’d had a great time as a player and to be involved in development of young players. Scott enjoys most parts of his role, in particular, meeting people, watching players develop and become better as well as the people who work behind the scenes, also the supporters and their passion for the Club. Scott explains he’d love to see the standard continue to improve and the numbers build at community level so the competitions become stronger. When asked if he sees himself continuing to be involved in women’s footy Scott replied yes as long as its part of his role within the Club. Scott really enjoyed seeing the improvement in women’s football from day 1 when we started to now as well as seeing the opportunities they are now getting. When asked what have been the highlights of being involved in women’s football Scott replies ‘There are too many to list, there’s has been so many highlights along the way, each one has been different in the roles he’s undertaken as a player and in this current role within the club’. Scott’s highlights within the CDFC have been his first League game, playing in 1995-96 Grand Finals, and State Games. Other highlights include seeing players come through our system to play League Football and get drafted, being a small part when Club was playing in Grand Finals during 2000’s and the experiences that came with that. We would like to thank Scott for all his hard work and dedication to the club and player as well as agreeing to this interview. Interview conducted by Louise Perry and Adam Knowles
