23.01.2022 MindmanMagic is the first video of a short form series created specifically for and by ZOESCOPE which features business people sharing their insights and tips on business. All videos are around a minute long.

17.01.2022 Video Marketing The latest stats show 81% of businesses are using video in their marketing. But why is it so popular? For one, it’s passive so there’s virtually no work to do on the part of the viewer; just click to play, sit back and watch. What else? It’s seen as ‘high quality content’ among marketers because it guarantees eyeballs. And it’s easily shareable. By the same token if it doesn’t tick boxes, opting out is quick. Even so, chances are, the bit that was seen will mo...re likely be remembered longer than the opening salvo of words that kicked off a competitor’s marketing blog. Why? Because the consumer got more than type on a page and a photo; they got colour and movement and sound. Lastly, videos that feature the business owner, manager or representative on camera literally put a face to a business or brand and much like a photo on a website, this makes them instantly more approachable, and relatable which leads to them being infinitely more contactable. If you’re in the market for a business video, ZOESCOPE make video for business. See more

15.01.2022 In striving to verify my business with google I've had to request calls from them more than a few times now. Seems my postcard verification went AWOL in the post and now I'm in an on-going, seemingly never-ending call centre relationship. The only light in all of this is their 'on-hold music' and is the one thing I look forward to hearing so much so I shazam-ed it today and found the composer. It's such a funky fun track, it puts a smile on my dial and makes me want to dance. Have a listen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfYFsg9t_iE

08.01.2022 Video entertains. When video captures and engages viewer attention it can be incredibly powerful. A successful reception is what any video maker or client wants for their videos. They want their audience to watch, be entertained, and engage with the information presented. Success on this scale will seem a shoe-in but that’s where they may be wrong. While entertaining an audience is one box ticked in getting information across, it’s not all of them. Getting engagement around ...that information right is the harder part: the take home message, the actionable stuff that will really signal whether the content presented made landfall or got swept out to sea in the excitement. There’s real skill in making information consumable, memorable and entertaining without making it didactic. No hard ask but every video maker’s ongoing challenge!

07.01.2022 "Video: it's the most potent marketing tool there is." My sage words and ZOESCOPE’s reason for being. Of course, there are good reasons for using other forms of marketing but as we’re increasingly both time poor and easily distracted, video is arguably the easiest to consume. We’re flooded by information pouring into our inboxes, spread on social media or that we find on the web on a daily basis. Meantime the nearest video link rabbit hole beckons and we’re off chasing it giv...en it’s interesting enough to chase. But if you venture down one or more video rabbit holes, it’s likely you won’t stay the distance unless it’s worth your time, even 30 seconds’ worth, so well thought out video marketing has to get you in and early. It has to make you interested in the content to go the distance. It has to make you believe whatever is being said, sold or pitched, which can be helped along by the quality of the production.

01.01.2022 Camera Orientation 1.01 What’s in a frame? If you’re shooting on a phone it depends how you hold it. Because it is a phone, the temptation is to hold it upright aka portrait orientation to shoot video. There’s nothing at all wrong with that but it does limit the viewing options. If you don’t upload to anything but social media it won’t pose much of a problem as most of these platforms accommodate this orientation by hiding the redundant third of the screen either side of your... vision from view. However, if your intention is for it to be seen on a TV or on youtube or vimeo for instance and you want to make the most of the screen real estate on offer, turn the camera on its side and film in landscape orientation. There’ll be no black bars on either side of your footage, you’ll have the whole screen to make use of and your video will look more professional into the bargain. If your video is perceived as more professional, chances are you will be too. See more
