23.01.2022 Today saw the final of the Zone Champion of Champion Singles held at Randwick Bowling club. The finalists were David Ferguson from Engadine against James King from Ramsgate Rsl. The final score being 31 to 9 to David Ferguson. Congratulations to James King for a great championship and a well deserved Runner Up. Congratulations to David Ferguson in what was a clinical display of draw bowling to secure his 2nd title in 3 years and good luck in the State Championship. Also thanks to Randwick Bowling Club for hosting the event with such professionalism.

23.01.2022 2020 Zone 13 Pennants Important Anouncement As you are aware BNSW announced some time ago that there will be no Pennants State Finals in 2020. Zone 13 had been hopeful that an abbreviated Pennants season could resume at Zone level and be completed later this year.... The decision to resume Pennants was always subject to a smooth transition out of the Covid-19 situation. Pennants resumption was also dependent on the willingness of clubs to continue. Many clubs, particularly those with older members, have expressed health concerns regarding continuing pennants. Individual members have also expressed concerns. The worsening Covid-19 situation also means the Zone must have a duty of care towards our membership. As such, the Zone 13 Executive has made the decision to abandon the 2020 Pennants Season. No Zone winners will be declared for 2020. While this will be disappointing for many we believe it is the correct action to take in these unprecedented times. 2021 Zone Pennant Entry fees will be reduced to take into account the abandoned 2020 season.

Please ensure your name is on the entry forms posted in your club - otherwise please contact your Bowls Secretary/Bowls Coordinator who will enter names on the online portal provided. Playing dates are over the weekends of August 8/9 and 15/16.... VENUES Venues will be finalised once all entries are received. We would like to sincerely thank all host clubs . Hosting State Singles cannot occur without each clubs assistance and the volunteer work of markers. The Opens will be held this year in the Inner West and Eastern Suburbs. We would like to thank Western Suburbs Leagues as Major sponsor of this event. Wests will hold at least 3 sections of Open Singles as well as the semi finals and finals in all disciplines. Sectional play will be held at Wests, Ashfield, Alexandria-Erskineville, Bronte and Clovelly. Communications will be held with all host clubs to ensure Covid compliance as well as ensuring there is a common Covid safety plan across all clubs. This plan will be communicated with all bowlers at the time of draw release (expected around Wed July 29 - 10 days before the event commences). VETERANS Veterans Singles is a Zone only event and does not continue to State Level. Should the current Covid situation worsen the Zone Match Committee may consider postponing this event. 21.01.2022 Today sees the conclusion of one of the zones biggest tournaments The Taren Point Prestige Pairs. 42 qualifying teams hit the greens to fight it out for the title that has seen some big name victors ovee many years of this fantastic tournament. Today we see some big names in action with International Gary Kelly. Newly crowned International player of the year Corey Wedlock playing with our own up and comer Dan Scanlan. Throw in Nathan Wise Mason Lewis Kyle Hansen and Dave Axon. This years Singles winner Simon Lytlle and a host of other Red Hot teams from around Sydney. 11.01.2022 State Singles Covid-19 Information. . The following Covid safety guidleines will apply at all Zone 13 host clubs for State Singles this weekend. The following will apply across all Host Clubs. Pleae adhere to these rules for your safety and the safety of all competitors... GENERAL 1. No one is to attend a host venue if they have been to Victoria in the last 14 days. 2. No one is to attend a host venue if they have visited a documented recent NSW source location. 3. No one is to attend a host venue if they have Covid-like symptoms (sore throat, headache, loss of smell, etc) 4. All Clubs will record the names and numbers of players and spectators. 5. All clubs will have hand Sanitiser available. 6. Social distancing etiquette is to be adhered to. BOWLS 7. Markers are to use Toucher spray or marker pens on bowls 8. Markers may spot the jack using their feet. 9. Scoreboard use is not mandatory.. If a scoreboard is not used the marker must clearly read the updated score to both players after each end. 10. Players do not need to sign cards. The marker will sign the card in the presence of both players. 11. Clubs are to provide separate jacks and mats for afternoon play. Alternatively mats and jacks may be sanitised between games. 12. It is recommended that players bring their own water bottles. NSW Health has reported a number of ho...tspots from various locations around NSW, with a number of infections reported in NSW schools The decision has been made to CANCEL the 2020 Junior Inter-Zone 7-A-Side. The intention to conduct the 2020 event was to ensure that there were some competitive opportunities for the Junior Bowlers of 2020. The decision to cancel the 2020 event was made as it was evaluated that the risk for all involved (participants, parents, the members of Club Dubbo and the Bowls NSW Committee & Staff members) was too great to risk gathering for this event at this time. Bowls NSW looks forward to working with Club Dubbo to present the Junior Inter-Zone 7-A-Side in future years.

Singles, Pairs and Triples Sectional play will be held at Zone 13 venues in the Inner West, Eastern Suburbs, St George and Sutherland Shire. Over $7,500 in prizemoney. Come and support the longest running bowls tournament outside of staye championships. Growing every year, and with no South Pacific Carnival or Summerland event, this years Turn of the Year should easily eclipse the record numbers that played last year.

C Donaldson and C Murray from Engadine Bowling Club up against G Ashcroft and A Price from Ashfield. The final was neck and neck at the halfway point and anyone's to win. In the end the team from Engadine proved a little to strong going on to win 23 to 11. Congratulations to the Ashfield team on a brilliant event and of course Congratulations to the Engadine team capping of the daily double with David Ferguson earlier winning the singles title.
