Prof. Chalmers has given 25-years of her life to scholarly innovation and leadership to enhance student learning and engagement through developing university teachers and teaching. The youngest of four children, Denise was the first in her family to attend university, completing a Bachelor of Education and later a Master of Education degree. She became Professor and Director for the Centre for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning at UWA before retiring. 04.01.2022 Today we acknowledge Amelia Mary Earhart for her fight for equality. An American aviation pioneer and author. She was the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. She set many other records, wrote best-selling books about her flying experiences.... She was instrumental in the formation of The Ninety-Nines, an organization for female pilots. She was the 16th woman to be issued a pilot's license. She had several notable flights, including becoming the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean in 1928, as well as the first person to fly over both the Atlantic and Pacific. She joined the Zonta Club of Boston in 1928. At the time of her disappearance, she had been a member of the Zonta Club of New York since in 1930. She mysteriously disappeared in 1937 while trying to circumnavigate the globe from the equator and was legally declared dead in 1939.

03.01.2022 NEWMAN COLLEGE STUDENT TAKES OUT ZONTA AWARD Newman College Year 12 student Charlotte Easden has won the 2020 Zonta Club of Perth Northern Suburbs' $1,000 'Young Women in Public Affairs Award'. A cheque and certificate were presented at a gala dinner for 90 at 'Ambrose Estate' Wembley on 12 August. Finalists for the Award were Rose Mansfield and Yie Xin Cheong both from Churchlands Senior High School. This Award was initiated by Zonta International in 1990 to recognise young ...women - who will become tomorrow's policy-makers and world leaders - for their: Commitment to volunteerism; Volunteer leadership achievements; and Dedication to the advancement of the status of women. Charlotte’s passion is to help diminish the inequity and suffering in the world by becoming a Human Rights Lawyer. #ZontaEmpowers

02.01.2022 This is Nadia Nadim. She was born in Afghanistan. Her father was murdered by the Taliban when she was 11 years old and her family fled to Denmark on the back of... a truck. Nadia has scored almost 200 goals in professional football and represented the Danish national team 98 times. She's completed medical school and is studying to become a reconstructive surgeon when her playing days are over. She speaks 11 languages fluently and is on the Forbes list of Most Powerful Women in International Sports.
