25.01.2022 Could you be our next treasurer? Owing to the success of her new business (congratulations Deb), our treasurer has resigned and we need your support to help Z-PAC thrive. Z-PAC normally performs five shows per year with an income of approx, $120K and the treasurer is a key management role; providing the committee with timely and accurate information (inc. P&L statements and balance sheets), assisting with budgets and ensuring were compliant for our annual level one audit. P...revious experience as a treasurer would be great but it is not required that you have an accountancy background. The show is an hilarious comedy which requires three energetic, savvy, fabulous-at-line-learning actors! Required are two males, one female, aged 20-60. ... The show runs April 17 - May 3. Rehearsals Monday and Thursday evenings at the theatre. When oil tycoon John Johnson is found with a huge sword in his back, it looks like a straight-forward case of dying illegally. But things in Drakes world are never as they seem. It is a fabulously zany, fun and mysterious whodunnit. Written by David Tristram, directed by David Coleman.

Thanks Helen Jennings did dressing up our Z-PAC Theatre model and loaning Gavin a costume! We even had some of our younger attendees dressing up getting into the spirit of the event! 07.01.2022 Z-PACs Amazing Carnival Theatrical POSTPONED Dear Z-PAC Community As you may be aware, regulations around social distancing and the physical restrictions of built environments have been tightened again, resulting in an unworkable impact on our concept for Carnival, which requires relaxed traffic flow and flexibility for patrons and stakeholders to engage in the performances and activities of the day.... It is because of this loss of fun and spontaneity on which the day was originally built, that we are postponing Carnival but hope to hold it in the next 6 months. We are very disappointed that this uplifting and creative community event cant go ahead at this time, but are hopeful that the pandemic will recede and we will have another chance. We have gathered an enormous amount of enthusiasm, commitment and goodwill from our members and from the broader community including the arts community and local and state governments. 02.01.2022 COVID-19 Update It is with great sadness that my first major announcement as president is that our 2020 season is now "coming soon" rather than entertaining you as expected. These are challenging times for all of us, both personally & professionally, but you can be assured that we will be back just as soon as its safe & practical to do so and well kick off with the hilarious "Inspector Drake & the Black Widow" as our first show.... Given the continuing government advice we have decided to suspend our drama classes; the committee will meet on April 18 to reassess the continuation of drama classes for Term 2 and communication will be provided in due course. Our monthly Karaoke evenings have been deferred and other events, such as the concert for Gunilla Myren School of Singing, will be reviewed and reassessed at regular intervals during these rapidly changing times. We will make decisions with the best interests of all our community at heart and hope to have these events back up and running again soon. For those whove already booked tickets to our shows, our fabulous team with be in touch in the coming days to discuss changing your ticket to a future date. To thank our loyal supporters, particularly during this difficult time, we would like to offer you a gift of a Z-PAC voucher to the value of 50% of your original ticket price. After what feels like FOREVER, we are finally able to stage our first full-length play at Z-PAC Theatre since we were forced to close our doors for Covid, so we are SUPER EXCITED to invite you to our pre-Christmas offering of 'Almost Maine'. In a similar style to the Christmas cult classic film 'Love Actually', 'Almost Maine' explores the experiences of various 'couples' as they navigate love. Set in the town of 'Almost', in Maine, t...he characters are interconnected and there are intriguing clues in the script about how the characters know each other. This in itself is entertaining to work out. Then, the way in which each couple experiences love is in turns hilarious, painful, heart-warming and beautifully brought to life by talented actors and crew under the expert leadership of director Tim Holstein. What a beautiful way to celebrate the human condition as we move into Christmas and bring this crazy year of 2020 to a close.
