10.01.2022 Hi!! Just wanted to pop in and say hello Also wanted to say a big thank you to everyone for checking in. I'm doing well and my knees are slowly recovering, so hope to join you for some fitness fun real soon! Not going to lie though, I also enjoy having this bit of extra downtime. Honestly I believe this was my body's way of telling me it was time to step back and take a little rest for both my physical health and my mental health. ... If you're feeling rundown, anxious, distracted, constantly tired or have physical pains that don't seem to go away, I'd highly recommend taking some time out for yourself too. Take a step back. Give yourself at least 10 minutes every day to do something selfish, something just for you. Whether it's to sit down and meditate or write in your journal/diary or go for a walk in the sun. 10 minutes of purely YOU time can have an incredible positive effect on your mood, your mindset and your day overall. And remember that it's OK to give yourself this time without feeling guilty because your body is telling you it NEEDS this. I tend to get pretty bad headaches on a fairly regular basis and while I practised taking breaks for myself previously, I kind of forgot to do that once the pandemic became the talk of the town. Once I realised that and started making it a priority to get those 10 minutes of myself back again, the headaches aren't fully gone but they are a hell of a lot better than what they were a month ago. A simple change to my every day life has made a huge difference for me and if you're reading this and relate to any of the above symptoms or feelings, I highly suggest you add this to your everyday routine as well.
