25.01.2022 ABC are currently looking for people who are interested in being involved in Season 2 of ‘Love on the Spectrum’ Please see the flyer below for more information. The first thing to explain is that ‘Love on the Spectrum’ is not a reality TV show. Their aim is to follow the journey of a group of people as they navigate a world that can be daunting to us all, but even more complex if you are on the spectrum or if you have a disability. They are working closely and collaborativ...ely with autism organisations and academic and clinical experts in this area and individuals on the spectrum and their approach, as always, will be with the greatest care and respect for those who participate. They organise the dates and group gatherings from their production office with detailed duty of care policies and procedures in place. Over the past few years they have produced many award-winning documentaries based around significant social issues and they plan to bring the same ethical approach and sensitivity to this series as they have others. The first series of ‘Love on the Spectrum’ is now on Netflix to view so that you can use the first series as a reference of what would be involved. 11.01.2022 It's Carers Week! National Carers Week is about recognising and celebrating the outstanding contribution unpaid carers make to our nation. There are over 2.7 million unpaid carers in Australia providing care and support to a family member or friend who has a disability, mental illness, alcohol or drug dependency, long term health condition or who is frail due to age.... Anyone at any time can become a carer. National Carers Week is an opportunity to educate and raise awareness among all Australians about the diversity of carers and their caring roles. Kat has organised this one to be in the beautiful Jervis Bay and will run from the 6th-8th of November. Just like the last one, it will be for a small group of women only. 06.01.2022 Shoalhaven Suicide Prevention and Awareness Network - SSPAN have organised a memorial service to remember those we have lost to suicide or unexpected death and show support to one another. It will be held on Sunday 11th of October from 5:45pm at Moona Moona Creek Reserve in Huskisson. RSVP by emailing SSPAN at [email protected].

04.01.2022 After eight great years our Leader of Operational Solutions, Drew Sullivan, has decided to move on. Drew was a great mentor, colleague and friend to many of us. His hard work is part of the reason Interchange Shoalhaven has been able to flourish the way it has over this last decade. Drew your banter will definitely be missed and we wish you all the best with whatever lies ahead! PS, it is also Drew's wedding day today! 04.01.2022 The Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District will be running a monthly women's and sexual health. The service will take place at the St George Basin community centre on every 3rd Monday of the month, beginning next week.

03.01.2022 How amazing is our beautiful participant Shelley who has been going to TAFE to participant in a Beauty course where she has developed: - More self confidence - Improved personal time management and organisational skills - She has taken responsibility for her assessments... - Improved communication with her teachers - Developed more responsibility with life skills, such as making sure she has clean uniforms, attending class on time & presented herself well. We are so proud of you Shelley! We can't wait to see more of your amazing work :)
