23.01.2022 Have to share this have been testing to how to fix a candle that is tunneling! Doesn't matter if it is a cheap candle or the best this can happen to any candle. Below are photo's of what the candle looks like and the end result. All you do is wrap alfoil and give it some TLC

23.01.2022 MUSHROOM SHAPE - Why does my wick do this !!! Why does my candle wick have a black "mushroom shape" after burning? The "mushroom" shape, formed at the end of a candle wick after burning, is the result of carbon buildup, where the flame consumes more wax than it can burn. It is a common occurrence and can be a sign that the wick is not strong enough. Keep in mind that some wicks are prone to mushrooming more frequently than other wicks. ... If "mushrooming" occurs with your candle, we recommend trimming the carbon buildup off the wick between burn. If you are seeing a combination of excessive mushrooming along with soot building up on the sides of your container, we would recommend cutting the black carbon off the candle after each burn. If you don't have candle trimmers use normal scissors

Who doesn't love decorating their home or apartment with a beautiful candle? They add warmth and light to every space and just generally make your home feel cozier. The only problem? They don't last forever and can be a little pricey in the shops. But the great part is you can make them yourself really easily with a few supplies and a little bit of know-how. Chances are you have a lot of the things you'll need already at home. Materials Needed Another bonus of making your own candles is that you can control what goes into them. If you're sensitive to fragrance, you can leave it out. If you're concerned about keeping the air in your home as clean as possible, you can choose our soy wax. Although there are many different types of candles, they all contain main components: You get enough in our kit to make 4 small candles. When you're ready to begin, prep the area where you'll be making your candle. Instructions Then, you'll need a heat source like a hot plate or electric stove to melt the wax. Then you'll need an old pot to melt the soy wax in. It melts faster and more evenly. (Double boiler) Add water half way in the saucepan, then a top dish where you add the wax to start the melting process. The wax does not go in the water. The wax provided is enough for 4 jars so you will need to allow 4 portions. Each wax portion is enough for 1 jar and you will need to use a bottle of the chosen fragrance for each portion. Now you are ready After melting the wax, add your wax & scent & colour into the pouring jar and stir, carefully pour the hot wax into the jar. Use the wooden wick holder and peg to ensure your wick stays in the centre. Let the wax cool completely (3 hours) and then trim the wick down to size. Always wait 24 hours before you burn your candle. It's incredibly easy to make your own candles at home. Although it's simple to make average candles, customizing your wax, wick, fragrance, and jar choices will yield spectacular results. 13.01.2022 HOW TO FIX A TUNNELING CANDLE (ALL YOU NEED IS SOME ALUMINUM) Not all candles burn how they should it can be the wick , wax or the mixture of the two but it is easily fixed.... How do I fix a tunneling candle? A tunneling candle can definitely be a problem! A candle can tunnel for multiple reasons. The most common reason for a candle tunneling is due to burning a candle improperly. Normally, you should let the candle burn long enough in each sitting to melt the wax all the way across the candle. If you don't let it melt it all the way across and blow it out it solidifies and leaves an indentation in the wax. Repeats of this cause a tunneling candle. It generally takes at least 1 hour to melt the wax all the way across. You can get rid of that tunnel by folding a piece of aluminum foil in half, wrapping it around the candle, and then folding it up over the flame like a tent (leaving a hole for it to get oxygen). Keep the foil on for about 30 minutes, and all of that built-up wax should be melted off the sides. THEN YOU HAVE A PERFECT CANDLE

03.01.2022 As much as i love to sell my candles also like to know that customers are getting the longest burn time with each candle. A few ways to do this - LOOKING AFTER CANDLES THE FIRST BURN... When lighting for the first time, burn the candle until wax melts across the entire surface up to the sides of vessel as this will prevent tunnelling, and create an even burn for the duration of the candle's 'life'. This may take up to 2-4 hours, but we promise it will make your candle last longer. TRIM YOUR WICKS "We can't express the importance of maintaining a short wick to get the most out of your candle,". "We recommend trimming your wick before every lighting. The wick only needs to be approximately 6mm in length, keeping it this length will avoid mushrooming which can result in unnecessary soot. This also controls the size of the flame allowing you to get the most time out of your candle". HOW TO HANDLE SOOT If soot forms on the inside of the vessel, extinguish candle, wait for it to cool, then wipe with a clean damp cloth. Trim wick and relight. HOW TO EXTINGUISH A CANDLE Extinguish candle with a snuffer, or dip the wick into the melted wax and then straighten wick to prevent smoking and also prevent hot wax from splattering. Do not blow out. HOW TO TELL IF YOUR CANDLE IS BURNING PROPERLY Efficient burning means flame is not flickering, teardrop shaped and upright. Extinguish a candle if it smokes, flickers, or the flame becomes too high. These signs indicate the candle is not burning properly and the flame isn't controlled. Let the candle cool, trim the wick, then check for drafts before re-lighting.
