16.01.2022 May the silver linings in this oddest-of-odd year's continue. Awagami Factory posted Donna Vo's package of AUD$500 worth of their exquisite Editioning Papers to her as soon as freight channels from Japan would allow. For her piece 'The Shedding', Donna received the inaugural Awagami Paper Award in Recognition of the Use of Handmade/ Artisanal paper.... The very special package arrived on Donna's Birthday . True story! Congratulations, again, Donna and enjoy your luscious paper! Many thanks to Craig and the team at Awagami Factory for sponsoring this award. More about Donna's practice and the winning piece at burnieartscouncil.com (go to THE FILMS! tab on the Top Navigation bar). There is even a poem, composed and read by Donna, along with a time-lapse video showing the 'making of.'

13.01.2022 Paper... the starting point of so many creative processes. 'The craft is considered so culturally and socially important to Japan that UNESCO has deemed it an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity...' The centuries old washi papermaking tradition practiced by Awagami Factory is acknowledged in this story about the inspiration behind design elements of the new MX-30.

13.01.2022 Huge congratulations to Anzara Clark on this suite of remarkable works currently being exhibited by Incinerator Gallery (all able to be viewed online). Anzara's practice focuses on the application of textile techniques to paper. A highly awarded wearable art artist, Anzara won the 'paper on skin' Betta Milk Major Award in 2014, the Friends of the Gallery Runner Up Award in 2016 and was a finalist in 2018. Always there are stories, so take some time to delve into the online display.

06.01.2022 Design Eye Creative 'paper on skin' 2020 judge Virginia Dowzer has been sharing her talents with Melbournians with these incredible displays for Melbourne Fashion Week. Just what the city needs after so many weeks of lock-down! The displays (Vic Market and Argyle Square, Lygon Street) will be in-situ until the end of November. A must see, Victorian friends!

01.01.2022 So lovely to see Olivia Ford featured on the front page of The Advocate newspaper today. Olivia's multi-disciplinary talents are currently on display at Hellyer College's graduating art exhibition, where she combines her love of dance, photography and modelling. Through her involvement with En Vogue Modelling Academy, we were privileged to have Olivia model the works of Mali Klein, Tony Williams, Chloe Townsend and Kelcie Bryant-Duguid in this year's Design Eye Creative 'paper on skin'. Congratulations to all the students whose work is included in the show - it has indeed been a challenging year!

01.01.2022 Congratulations to our friends and all the fabulous designers and creatives who contributed to the Remade by Interweave Arts in Launceston on Saturday night! :) :) :)
