25.01.2022 I have been incredibly busy with lots of trips to Melbourne and surrounds sharing Aboriginal Culture with children in schools, preschools and childcare centres. It is a very rewarding experience and I enjoy seeing how the children respond and enjoy interacting in the stories. Anyone wanting incursions and art workshops for their school, preschool or childcare centres need to get in early as bookings have started coming in for next year already.

23.01.2022 Today I am sharing Aboriginal culture with Yr 2 students at Gilson College in Taylors Hill. The area where I am doing the sessions has the most gorgeous entrance area & it is indoors!

23.01.2022 And so starts another season of providing Aboriginal culture sessions in schools and kindergartens across Victoria. Looking forward to visiting new places, meeting new people, and sharing the culture with new groups of students.

22.01.2022 Just finished a Aboriginal incursion at Altona kindergarten which is one of the nicest I've seen. Fantastic staff & lovely children & great environment

21.01.2022 I'm sharing this picture because this is my gorgeous little granddaughter & she is running second in a baby contest run by Bambella Designs. We are not into baby contests as such, but because she was chosen from her pic, she is one of 10 finalists, so I'm giving her as many likes as I can. If you think she is cute, feel free to click on the photo and give her a 'like' - Thank you :-)

19.01.2022 Today I was at Altona Kindergarten sharing about Aboriginal culture with a fantastic group of children. The kindergarten has a beautiful entrance with a mosaic rainbow serpent out the front.

16.01.2022 Iv'e been in Melbourne doing Aboriginal incursions for the past 3 days and have my last session tomorrow before returning home. Today I was at an absolutely lovely kindergarten in Altona, and I head back there tomorrow for my last session. I will have to get some pics of it, as it is an awesome kinder with a wonderful playground and great teachers with a real appreciation of Aboriginal Culture and it's place in 'learning' for our younger generation :-)

12.01.2022 Today I am back in Melbourne and provided Aboriginal incursions at a kindergarten in Montmorency. I just love being able to visit kindergartens and childcare centres all over the place and enjoy the variety of centres I go in to. The kindergarten at Montmorency is in such a nice spot and the facilities, staff and children were all fantastic. They have a gorgeous big undercover verandah area where they usually have their snacks and some play time. Today it was where I got to set up for the incursion, and as it is east facing, the morning sun was gorgeous. I had a wonderful time presenting Aboriginal songs, games and dreaming stories for 3 groups of children. I think the staff enjoyed the songs as much as the children. I look forward to going back there in the future :-)

12.01.2022 Just found these cool little led light candles that change colours at the Reject shop. Great for my imitation campfire I think :-)

11.01.2022 Have been doing Cultural incursions at Black Rock kindergarten where I actually went as a child. So have really enjoyed 'revisiting' the area. It is so rewarding getting feedback from parents how their children shared the dreaming stories they had heard with the rest of their family that night. The children made pictures of Minkgill after the sessions.

10.01.2022 Back in 'my country' at YMCA Recreation camp Anglesea on a school camp with Bannockburn School. Looking forward to doing nature walks & art with the Yr4's this afternoon.

09.01.2022 I experienced the concept of a bush kindergarten in Torquay today and am so impressed with what one very dedicated kindergarten teacher by the name of Rachael has achieved. It is just fantastic to see and was a pleasure to do Aboriginal incursions for them in the bush setting!

09.01.2022 This year so far has proven to be very busy with many schools, preschools and child care centres securing bookings quite early, so I am actually booked out until the end of August. Am loving the experience of visiting so many different kinders and schools and seeing the different environments children get to learn in. :-)

08.01.2022 Had a brilliant time at Emma McLean kindergarten today. The children were great and the staff were lovely. They certainly have a great group of 'budding actors' in their groups with the children doing a brilliant job of playing parts in the Dreamtime stories about 'How kangaroo got it's pouch' and 'The first sunrise'. I was thrilled in how they 'got into their parts', participated and engaged in the songs and games. Well done! It's days like this that I just love my job :-)

08.01.2022 This week I have been working with Yr 5 & 6 students at Carwatha College sharing about Aboriginal Culture and they participated in an art activity painting boomerangs. They produced some great work.

07.01.2022 Today I'm off to Torquay for some bush kinder sessions

07.01.2022 Today I told the children at school the story of Mopoke & the moon & afterwards they made a picture using coloured paper & crepe paper & then added some dot painting stars. They did some great work!

03.01.2022 Heading back to Melbourne this Wednesday for Aboriginal Culture holiday art programs!

02.01.2022 As part of my role as a Koorie Pre School Assistant, I am continually making new resources to teach our Culture. These animal track symbols that I burned onto wood circles will be used in games to teach the children about our Australian animals and the symbols used for each animal

01.01.2022 It's been a busy year with many visits to schools, preschools & childcare centres across Melbourne & Regional Victoria. I have loved visiting so many different schools and environments and have enjoyed meeting and working with so many children who have all been keen to learn about Aboriginal Culture. The fun part is doing art work with them and I have been thrilled with the creativity and results of the children's art work. They are always so proud of their creations and it is so very rewarding to hear them say 'can you please come back again'. Looking forward to another fulfilling year next year.
