18.01.2022 AIKF 2020 Colouring-In Competition - Announcement! With our 2020 Festival cancelled this year, we wanted to continue our Colouring-In Competition, so because of this we went virtual. All 181 submissions were sent to New Zealand where our international kite flyers, Simon and Lyndall thoroughly reviewed all of them...See below for an update from Lyndall... ******************... Thank you for asking Simon and I to judge the Colouring-In contest this year. It definitely was a very very tough one but it gave us something different to do whilst we are in lockdown in New Zealand. Judging only took us over an hour so you can see there was some awesome entries....Well done to all entries you were all amazing and made this job very hard! For the 0 - 5 years, firstly can we say WOW so much talent for the young ones. Made our judging very hard. Our winner is AYLA - 5 years old from Kidman Park Primary School. Ayla had great use of colour, very talented indeed. For the 6 - 9 years, again some great talent and this age group was the hardest our of all 3 age groups. Our winner is ABEEHA - 9 years old from Parafield Gardens R-7 School. Abeeha - WOW you really made this Colouring-In picture your own. What a unique style. We really loved how you incorporated kite pictures into the word Kite. For the 10 plus, this was a tie for us. Simon picked one and I picked one but we had to decide. Both artists really used colours that matched and made the picture really POP. In the end there could only be the one winner which was LILLY - 10 years old from Alberton. Thank you once again for letting us be judges. Only wish we could be there in person but a pandemic had other plans. Please all stay safe and hope we get to see you all next year. ****************** We will be in touch with the winners this week to coordinate getting your prizes to you from the Semaphore Carousel and Free as a bird kites. Thank you to everyone who entered, each person does receive a voucher from the Semaphore Carousel to use when they open again soon, so we will send them out to you all soon
