25.01.2022 My fresh new look website everyone! http://abbywardtakarabe.com.au/

22.01.2022 I was recently interviewed for a podcast by a dear friend, Anthony Byrnes. What started out as one of our chats around the table turned into a discussion about yoga, homeopathy and health in general. One of the things I love about talking with Anthony is that he doesn't muck about or shy away from difficult topics. https://anchor.fm//Podcast-4-Your-health--your-responsibil

19.01.2022 This is actually quite a good description of what it looks like we're doing at Yoga practice! This week we'll be exploring stability and mobility in our lower ...bodies. As life goes on, our mobility & ease of movement affects our quality of life more & more. Whether it's being able to go on hikes, picking up grandkids or getting down on the floor to play with them, looking after our families, enjoying freedom & independence or just feeling at home & at peace with our own bodies - mobility can really make or break our ability to live life to the full. I see how important this is to people on the enrolment forms when I ask what people are hoping to receive from the practice. We all want to be able to live, love and enjoy our lives & our freedom the best we can, for as long as we can. In our practice we aim to support our joints & balance freedom of movement with stability and strength. We also work from the nervous system with breath & mindfulness, working from the inside out to recover our naturally relaxed, stable and easeful mind-body system. This means practice doesn’t have to be hard. It can be easeful, sustainable, and enjoyable. And a bit like really slow karate with breathing. See more

16.01.2022 A workshop for women that is sure to be equally nourishing as well as enlightening. Adelaide girls, this one is for you. <3

13.01.2022 When I published Nourished Your Nerves, I didn't know how it was going to be received, I just wanted to offer it. I presume that's the deal for most creatives. It takes time and energy to create feedback. I'm always so grateful to people who take the time (such a precious commodity) to reach out and share their experience. ... Here's some feedback from one of my dear, regular, 1:1 clients who isn't on Facebook and wanted me to share. xo "Abby has beautifully crafted this yoga compendium which is very appealing to me because of its: Diversity: compilation of various breathing, meditation, asana and yoga nidra practices Inclusiveness: Any yoga practitioner regardless of their experience can benefit from consistently doing the exercises in this course. Presentation: The Nourish Your Nerves collection has beautiful visuals as a backdrop to Abby’s clear guidance through the practices whilst we listen to her distinctly exquisite voice. Finally, Nourish Your Nerves is a wonderful complement to my own quarterly one-on-one classes I have been taking with Abby via SKYPE for the past 2.5 years. I find that although I am benefiting invaluably from this individualized therapeutic practice (which I do on my own 3 times a week), Nourish Your Nerves is a wonderful complement akin to the icing on the cake." https://adelaidenaturalhealth.thinkific.com

12.01.2022 A preview of what happened to me as a result of having an incredibly talented friend who called me for an impromptu photo shoot at the beach... Natalie Singleton, your vision of light, texture, energy and balance is sublime. I don't know how to tag you, sorry! (Facebook and I have a complex relationship) I had such a beautiful time with you Nat, it didn't feel like there was a camera between us. <3

11.01.2022 And the people stayed home. And read books, and listened, and rested, and exercised, and made art, and played games, and learned new ways of being, and were still. And listened more deeply. Some meditated, some prayed, some danced. Some met their shadows, And the people began to think differently. And the people healed. And, in the absence of people living in ignorant, dangerous, mindless and heartless ways, the earth began to heal. ... And when the danger passed, and the people joined together again, they grieved their losses and made new choices, and dreamed new images, and created new ways to live and heal the earth fully, as they had been healed. ~Kitty O'Meara

04.01.2022 Please do not fall into "yoga-rationalism" mode! Humans, your chakras (cakras) are not out of alignment, and for the record, I think that is a crock of shit th...at fuels a fear-based economy. Pray, meditate, and visualize if that feels right for you, but my god PLEASE do not stop at that!! STAND UP and do something else to make this world a more compassionate and safer place to live in! 04.01.2022 "Birthdays are a mixed bag..." Rod Stryker so eloquently puts birthdays into perspective.

01.01.2022 Stress a mild description for unease, pain, anxiety and relative suffering. It’s so widespread, so pervasive and so unrelenting that it’s accepted as ‘normal’. It’s not. It’s out of control. We need rest. We need nourishment and we need to heal. We need to take care of our overwrought nervous systems.... I made these online resources in response to that. Nourish Your Nerves is an online kit containing yoga posture practices (asana), breath work techniques (pranayama), meditations and yoga nidra. There’s also the option to just get the meditations. Short practices (max 30 mins) that can be stand alone or strung together. If you know of anyone that might benefit please forward it to them or gift it to them! https://adelaidenaturalhealth.thinkific.com
