21.01.2022 Big day ahead getting to transform an old house. New ceiling fans, LED lights, bathroom exhaust and smoke alarms to go with the new switchboard I installed last week. All of this and new internal paint and flooring and this house will look fantastic.

20.01.2022 Does your old switchboard look like this? Notice there is NO safety switch on the old switchboard? If your switchboard looks like this we highly recommend you get a switchboard upgrade ASAP. Not only did this upgrade we recently completed have no safety switch, but it had multiple parts which had been burning inside the old fuse board. This client was very lucky a fire did not start. If your switchboard is an old fuse style board, call us for a free quote on an upgrade.

16.01.2022 Another recent switchboard upgrade I completed on a house. The chipboard panel had completely deteriorated and only the cables were holding meters in place. Also only the 2nd residential switchboard I can remember in 15+ years with NO safety switch at all. New switchboard with safety switches on all circuits on this rental property will give the landlord peace of mind that their tenants will be safe. 14.01.2022 Some good electrical advice if you are now working from home. Under current circumstances your home office may be classed as a workplace and covered by your employers insurance and liabilty policies. You may be required to have your electrical equipment, leads, and safety switches inspected and tested by a licensed electrician. Check with your employer if unsure.

11.01.2022 There was a recent house fire in my local community caused by an air-conditioner. Luckily no one was hurt. The air-conditioner was not on at the time and this caused concern for some local residents who were asking should they be concerned about their air-conditioners. Even though the air-conditioner was off, the power supply to it was still on and it was in stanby mode. Normally this poses no higher risk than any electrical device which is off but in standby mode. There... are however a few actions which can be taken to reduce any fire risk in your air-conditioner: -1. Regular maintenance and cleaning of your air-conditioner by a professional air-conditioning technician. -2. Make sure there is plenty of clear space around the outdoor unit of the air-conditioner. Remove any plants, leaves, outdoor furniture, rubbish, etc away from the unit. -3. Have regular pest inspections and treatments. Geckos and vermin such as rats & mice can and have caused damage to components of air-conditioners. -4. Have a safety switch installed on your air-conditioner. Most air-conditioners DO NOT have a safety switch installed on them as it was not required until recently. Installing a safety switch can help reduce any fire risk. We also highly recommend installing safety switches on all other electrical circuits. If you need any further advice or have any queries call us and we would be more than happy to help. Thanks.

11.01.2022 Now most us us are spending much more time in our home there are some simple electrical checks you can do to make sure your home is safe for you and your family. 1. Test your safety switch - it is recommended at least every 3 months to test all of your safety switches (i.e. when you get your power bill). 2. Test your smoke alarms - it is recommended at least once a month to test your smoke alarms. 3. Check all light switches & power outlets in your home - check for loose or... broken switches, cracked plates, burn marks. Have any checked & replaced if they are faulty, broken or you are unsure. 4. Check extension leads - check all power leads for any cuts, signs of being crushed, wear & tear. 5. Check power boards - check for any signs of burning (brown marks on power boards generally indicate overheating) & inspect all plugs of leads and power boards. It is a Samsung The Frame television. It comes with a magnetic frame, sits flat to the wall, and can use a variety of art or photos to make it look like a wall hung picture when not being used.
