17.01.2022 QUESTION FROM AN EXPECTANT PARENT I’m currently 24 weeks pregnant with triplets and thought I should start shopping for babies furniture. I’m finding it particularly difficult to find a triple pram in Sydney, Australian stores. I’ve been searching online and found the peg perego triplette most appealing. Any mothers out there know how I can order one online? I have a 6 year old son also and would love some advice on raising triplets.

17.01.2022 Today marks the start of Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Action Week 2020. This year’s theme is ‘Tell someone who cares’. This year, more than ever, it is vital that expecting and new parents who are struggling know they’re not alone and can reach out for help. And just as importantly, they can know that when they do reach out, they will be supported by those they confide in. We know that parents of multiples are at increased risk of developing perinatal anxiety or depression, says Ashlee Tenberge, AMBA Chairperson. So it’s important for all our members to know that there is information and support available to help them whether during pregnancy or in early parenthood. For further information, visit https://www.amba.org.au/organisati/about/partnerships/panda

14.01.2022 It is wonderful to see multiple birth families being given more birth options, with consideration for the wellbeing of both the babies and parents.

08.01.2022 Got a feeling that someone you know or care about it isn’t behaving as they normally would? Perhaps they seem out of sorts? More agitated or withdrawn? Or they’re just not themselves. Trust that gut instinct and act on it. Amongst plenty of positive experiences and the joys of raising multiples, the multiple birth community also face challenging realities such as poorer physical and developmental health outcomes for mothers and babies. When considering the family unit, health is not just the absence of disease, but encompasses a holistic view of physical, mental and social well-being. As we head into R U OK day tomorrow on Thurs 10 September, learn more about the signs and when it's time to ask R U OK?

07.01.2022 Do you have children (or even just one!) transitioning to school next year? Find out what to look for when approaching this significant milestone and learn essential strategies to assist with this new phase of your children's lives. Key concerns that parents of multiples face in the preparation for transition to school including classroom placement for multiples and whether their child is ready or not will be discussed.... As the name for the first year of primary school is different in many states and territories of Australia, the below reference should help clarify: WA: Pre-primary NSW: Kindergarten VIC: Preparatory QLD: Preparatory SA: Reception TAS: Preparatory ACT: Kindergarten NT: Transition

06.01.2022 Multiple Birth Awareness Week (MBAW) is a national Australian campaign to raise awareness around and draw attention to the unique realities for multiple birth families and how active advocacy, positive education and engaged communities can contribute to enabling positive health outcomes for our families. The changing theme for MBAW is launched around October each year. We are calling on you to share your ideas for MBAW 2021. MBAW is an opportunity to raise awareness & educate... others about multiple births, so we would love to hear your ideas about what you believe Australian’s need to be more educated about when it comes to having and raising multiples. You can share your ideas, following the link https://www.amba.org.au/mbaw Please share far and wide, this is not just for AMBA members.

03.01.2022 Thinking of all our members at this challenging time. How has the pandemic impacted you?

03.01.2022 From the moment I sat down ... I realised these were my people. Have you developed lifelong friends through AMBA, just like Mandy and Kate? Tag your AMBA besties and tell us about the connections and support you have found through our community.

02.01.2022 AMBA supports the petition to have abdominoplasty reinstated to the Medicare Benefits Schedule for women with abdominal separation after pregnancy. Mums who have had a multiple birth are more prone to abdominal separation, which leads to ongoing medical issues and reduced quality of life. Please sign the petition to show your support before it closes on 23rd September. https://www.aph.gov.au/petition_list?id=EN1751
