02.01.2022 On the 20th of December 2019 our little Codi Jai Hanna was born Little to anyone’s knowledge, this little girl was born facing a very tough & long road ahead of her. On the 21st of December Codi’s bowels had a blockage. Codi was rushed to Sydney Children’s hospital in Randwick to find out that they were going to do emergency surgery to unblock her bowel, putting in a temporary stoma. Codi was then placed into ICU, sedated and on a breathing machine to help her little body r...ecover from the major surgery. For Codi’s parents Ashlee & Daniel this was something they would never have thought they would ever have to see their little girl go through, the many cords, machines and needles that surrounded her. After a tough 4 days in ICU Codi was transferred to a ward and then onto Wollongong Hospital which was closer to home. Just before they were finally allowed to take their little girl home after spending Christmas & New Year’s away from their 2-year-old son Dallas, Ashlee and Daniel were told the news that Codi had tested positive to Cystic Fibrosis. Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disorder that affects mostly the lungs but also the pancreas, liver, kidneys and intestine. The next step for Codi, Ashlee and Daniel was to meet her team of Doctors that would now be looking after Codi at Sydney Children’s Hospital. Codi has already been in and out of hospital having undergone tests, bloodwork, feeding tubes, medications, x-rays and that’s just the beginning. As you can see Codi has already been through more than most and to honour her fight and the courage of her parents we would love to raise some money for the amazing charities that help develop treatments and care for the people and families that are affected by this silent disease. We have organised some hampers to be raffled off that will be sold in salon that will include vouchers/items from ARA Hair as well as many other contributing businesses. Every little bit counts and we are so excited to be sharing this story and fundraiser for our business partner Ashlee, husband Daniel and her beautiful family.
