24.01.2022 Iggy in his new bigger rug. Cold and overcast here today with a biting wind chill.

24.01.2022 The mares of Arapalla (and gelding Nev). Bay mare is Barbie, TB broodmare who will be put in foal to pure Arabian Salam Shahzor for a 2021 anglo foal. Grey mare is Seemark Bella who's on lease and will also be put to Salam Shahzor.... Ariel (Appy X mare) is due mid to late October to pure crabbet Arabian Fenwick Just Brilliant. Dark brown mare is TB Casey, who's only just turned three and has recently come off the track. She'll be spelled and bred next year. Liver chestnut mare is Tilly, who's turning 5 and has just been started under saddle. She'll spend the summer getting some miles under her belt. Not to forget Azzarah who has produced the beautiful colt Ignite for us, who's tucked away safely in the nursery paddock. And of course there's Nev, our big pet who likes looking after the girls.

22.01.2022 Arabec In Ya Dreams (Ariel) due in three weeks. Foal will be 75% Arabian/25% Appaloosa and should have colour/bling. Expecting a bay either with a blanket or varnish and white socks and a blaze. We'll see how that pans out By Fenwick Just Brilliant, crabbet Arabian. Mature 15hh plus, eligible multiple registrations.... Filly will be retained, colt may be gelded and will possibly be available.

22.01.2022 Follow up scan for Thoroughbred Barbie at 35 days post twin removal at 19 days - nipping of the smaller embryo was successful and the remaining single embryo is growing nicely, you can see the tiny bub floating in the darkened area. 20.01.2022 Iggy is three weeks old at 1:30am tonight. He has a lovely small refined head with a large swirl right between the eyes. I'm told by some horse people large single swirls between the eyes indicate good character.

19.01.2022 Moved Ariel and Jazz out of the foaling yard and into the bigger paddock next to Iggy and Azzarah. Jazz is now 10 days old. "Jazz" (AP Just a Daydream) Fenwick Just Brilliant X Arabec In Ya Dreams 75% Arabian filly.

19.01.2022 Ariel (Arabec In Ya Dreams) is due mid/late October to Fenwick Just Brilliant (Crabbet). Foal will be 75% Arabian and has some impressive bloodlines. Arabian breeding of this foal includes grandsire Jamahl on sires side and on dams side Alii and grandsire Yahir. The Appaloosa breeding on the dams side is sire Yallawa Timeless Dream who is by The Test of Time.

17.01.2022 We said goodbye to our special boy Iggy today, who, at 6 months old, is heading down to Victoria to start his new adventures with his new Mum Karen, who I'm sure will love him as much as we do. Congratulations Karen! Looking forward to hearing about his progress in the future. Safe travels Iggy

14.01.2022 So hard to take good pictures of Jazz as she wants to be up close. It's either a nostril shot, eyeball shot or a bum shot (because she likes her bum scratched and will present her rear end ever so politely).

13.01.2022 This season's foals for Arapalla.... AP Ignite, (Kirramurray Driftin Embers HSH x Ejen Park Azzarah) palomino Arabian Stockhorse gelding (sold). Growing like a weed and will be ready to be weaned in four weeks time. He's going to be quite a tall boy, may reach mum's height of 15.2hh. AP Just a Daydream (Fenwick Just Brilliant X Arabec In Ya Dreams) bay part bred Arabian filly (25% Appaloosa). Mature 15hh plus. Lovely put together filly who resembles her sire.

09.01.2022 Did someone mention nap time? Coming out of minus 3.5 degrees so the ponies are enjoying the sun.

09.01.2022 Iggy is growing into a beautiful boy, he sure is a cracker of a colt. Iggy will be leaving us once he's weaned in January. He's going to a wonderful home in Victoria where he'll be pampered and loved. Congratulations Karen, we know you'll love him as much as we do and we so look forward to hearing about Iggy's progress in the future.

07.01.2022 Glen Innes 20km ride March 2020. The last ride we were able to do before Covid hit. Top; Ejen Park Impact, 4 year old Crabbet gelding. Bottom; Arabec Aerosmith, 4.5 year old Appaloosa X Arabian gelding.

07.01.2022 Some footage of our ride today at Red Range Glen Innes. Paddy and Aero's first 40km ride. Paddy completed the full 40km with all A's and 1's in his logbook, while unfortunately Aero vetted out at 20km lame. He'd had a hoof trim the day before and was a little footsore. but these things happen, a learning curve for all involved.

07.01.2022 Shahzor (pure Arabian stallion) 1st solo ride in round yard. He is progressing well with the backing process and is also being trained bitless.

06.01.2022 Sunday morning ride down Halls Creek Road. We usually do a 12km return ride and take about an hour. Today was a mixed bag of surprises when Paddy thought he'd never seen dogs round up cattle before down at Rosscommon. There were a few hairy moments which were exacerbated by a very loud and rattling stockcrate passing us, followed by four motorbikes. It was an interesting ride and they have both had some good exposure to scary things.

01.01.2022 Our paddock shelter is finally finished! 4m long x 3m deep, roof height 2.7m at highest point. Turns out Matt's not bad at DIY. We'll be putting some more of these up in some of the other yards and paddocks.
