24.01.2022 These little guys have been hit by the bushfires hard, a lot have been wiped out, wild hives and commercial hives. If you have a swarm where you dont want them please please please call an apiarists (beekeeper) to come and collect them to relocate the hive. Any pest control company will come and kill a hive off but we always need to look after them whenever possible even more after the last few months. #ashwoodpestcontrol #pestcontrol #pests #adelaide #southaustralia #summer #bees #hive #apiarist #relocate #bushfires

23.01.2022 Termites will slow down in winter but they never completely stop. This species of termite is Heterotermes ferox, it mainly does superficial damage on weathered wood of poles, fences, posts, flooring and timber decking. It is generally of minor economic importance but occasionally damages sound timber. Colonies are subterranean and small but it can have multiple colonies close together. Workers and soldiers are slow moving and not aggressive when disturbed. #ashwoodpestcontrol #pestcontrol #adelaide #southaustralia #termites #winter #feeding #baiting #home

17.01.2022 RedBacks (Latrodectus Hasselti) This little guy can strike fear in almost anyone a species of highly venomous spider believed to originate in South Australia or adjacent Western Australian deserts, but now found throughout Australia, Southeast Asia and New Zealand. The redback is mainly nocturnal, the female remains concealed during the day and spins her web during the night usually remaining in the same location for most of her adult life. Although there webs seem random,... they are strategically placed for support and entrapment of prey. The rear portion of the web forms a funnel-like retreat area where the spider and egg sacs are found. This area has vertical, sticky catching threads that run to ground attachments. The vertical strands act as trip wires to initially alert the spider to the presence of prey or threats. They also snare and haul prey into the air when weaker horizontal strands that hold them down, known as guy lines break when prey thrash around. #ashwoodpestcontrol #pestcontrol #adelaide #spider #winter #information

13.01.2022 This door frame has termites, the mud filling the cracks of the door frame helps the termites in a few ways, this is to eliminate light, regulate the temperature within the workings and keep out any predators such as black ants. Always keep an eye out for any changes in the door frames of your house. #ashwoodpestcontrol #pestcontrol #adelaide #summer #termites #bugs #doorframe #watchout #mud

13.01.2022 Consistency is the main thing with ants, you need to remember the nest can hold thousands and thousands of ants and baiting a few can sometimes not be enough. Always check the next day and apply more if needed #ashwoodpestcontrol #pestcontrol #adelaide #sunshine #ants #tips #consistency

11.01.2022 Remove this from around your house this weekend. #ashwoodpestcontrol #pestcontrol #termites #entrypoint #DIY #summer #tip #adelaide #southaustralia #grass

03.01.2022 The big gumtree on your property can be a prime location for a termite nest, this tree had no signs of any termite activity with just a visual inspection. Visual inspections on trees can only tell some of the story, make sure you insist that the trees are drilled to get the full picture about what’s inside. #ashwoodpestcontrol #pestcontrol #ashwood #adelaide #southaustralia #spring #termites #inspection #tree #gumtree #drilling
