Melbourne Fringe Festival is proudly open access, which means anyone can get involved. Plus, theyve got loads of microgrants and bursaries on offer to help support your artistic practice in 2020. 22.01.2022 Centre for Projection Art presents six installations for LIGHT WINDOWS, a world-wide project produced by HoloCenter, New York encouraging artists to display light art in the windows of homes and venues around the world and share a message of unity and hope during the COVID-19 pandemic. Artists from Centre for Projection Arts inaugural artist-in-residence program will illuminate the six windows of the Johnston Street. Viewed from 6.30 pm-midnight between 15 - 31 May, audiences can experience these works during their daily rituals from the street and through the LIGHT WINDOWS interactive map online. https://www.centreforprojectionart.com.au/light-windows

19.01.2022 Three streams of small quick response grants have been developed by the City of Port Phillip to support local artists, cultural organisations, and creative groups dealing with the ongoing impact of COVID-19. Applications to each stream will close at 12 midnight Monday 8 June 2020. Applicants will be notified of the outcomes in July 2020.... Applicants can apply for up to and between $4,000 and $8,000 depending on the stream and criteria for each stream.

10.01.2022 Darebin Songwriters Award is open for entries! Now a part of Darebins new multi-arts festival FUSE, the annual competition seeks to recognise, showcase and promote the talents of local songwriters. There is an amazing prize package to be won including $2000 cash, a recording session at Head Gap, EP Mastering by Crystal Mastering, CD Duplication services by Implant Media, a $500 Echo Tone guitars voucher plus a free pass to an I manage My Music masterclass. The top 50 scorin...g entrants will each receive written feedback on their song and our 12 Finalists will each score a one on one song writing mentor session with a Darebin Songwriters Award judge. This year a $500 Peoples Choice Award will also be presented. Songwriters who live, work or study in the City of Darebin are welcome to enter. The Award is open to songwriters of all ages and songs in languages other than English are welcome. Local Indigenous songwriters are particularly encouraged to enter. The winner will be announced in a special radio broadcast on 3KND Radio Thursday 17 September during FUSE Spring festival. Entries close on Wednesday 29 July.
