21.01.2022 Today more than 100 people came to watch 2014 Finalist Ruben Palma appear in concert with pianist Vatche Jambazian at St James King St. They performed Prokofievs "Cello Sonata Op. 110". If you missed todays concert, you can still see Ruben in concert with the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra on 26th and 27th of September at the Concourse Theatre in Chatswood.

07.01.2022 Vale Peter Sculthorpe (29 April 1929 - 8 August 2014), a great composer and an inspiration to many young Australian musicians. Due to illness, Peter Sculthorpe was unable to attend the Finals of the 2014 Australian Cello Awards but sent the following message: "...the cello is one of my favourite instruments. These awards have my heartfelt support." Yelian He played Sculthorpes "Threnody for Solo Cello" as part of his Allen-Evans winning performance earlier this year.

02.01.2022 Yelian He (Y-Squared) was the overall winner of the inaugural Australian Cello Awards held in March 2014 at the Verbrugghen Hall of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, The University of Sydney. Yelian was awarded the Allen-Evans Scholarship, the Sydney Symphony Prize and the MOST Audience Prize. As a testament to this world-class artist, Yelians Sydney Symphony Prize performance has already sold out! Congratulations indeed. In taking up his prize, Yelian will perform Bachs...
