21.01.2022 https://www.abc.net.au//x-ray-vision-for-seafood-/12484072 No doubt this is good technology BUT without a mandatory Standard for Fish Names it seems like the hierarchy are not joining the dots!

17.01.2022 The Pacific Oyster's scientific name has changed...details below

16.01.2022 Nice idea? Possibly BUT why not follow through and, if you believe, the name needs changing then make application to Australian Fish Names Standard and get the name you are promoting. Failure to do so is putting you outside the Standard and could be liable to legal costs if it was determined you are deceiving the public. https://www.abc.net.au//sa-aboriginal-company-ha/100125890

13.01.2022 Note from Alan Snow Many of you will know that fish names is now under the stewardship of Meaghan Dodd and I am confident that the process has been left in very capable hands. Meaghan brings new and fresh ideas to standards development procedures and I am sure that it will be a better process because of this. As many of you know, my fish names experience started in around 2000 when I was working with Seafood Services Australia and we sat down in a room and we mapped out a fis...h names process that has stood the test of time and been continually refined along the way to the slick operation it is today and each and every one of you has played your part. Unquote The Australian seafood industry should be very grateful for Alan’s efforts and involvements over the years in ensuring that the Standard has met all of the global requirements and has led the world of seafood in this area winning awards. So as we say a fond goodbye to Alan and wish him a long and healthy retirement we also take this opportunity to welcome Meaghan Dodd to the Secrétariat role. A tough gig to follow ‘Snowy’ Meaghan but you have the skills and confidence and support of many to ensure the Standard is on a continuous improvement path. Onwards and upwards!
