24.01.2022 Colty and Jabberwocky shone and sparkled at an endurance ride on the weekend in Tassie, even though it was wet, muddy, duck weather. They crunched out 40km with bounce in their stride. Jen and Olivia with big grins were strapped onboard. Jabberwocky is preparing and training for his first 80km! Good luck flying dragon

23.01.2022 To all you mothers out there. This is for you! Happy Mothers Day

23.01.2022 Watch out for a wedgie! Our favourite bird of prey, the Wedge Tail Eagle is often seen on our rides and floating about the farm. In Tasmania, fewer than 200 pairs are left in the wild. Like the Tassie Tiger, the eagle was once subject to a bounty in Tasmania, as it was believed to prey on livestock.

22.01.2022 Love! Love is all you need

This is a barefoot, bitless, natural horse care magazine published for 20 years, and this is their last issue - to celebrate, they are offering Issue 80 FREE to you! ... I feel so honoured to be in print with the long term legends in natural hoof care. I remember way back with endurance, I just wanted to do my own thing and not shoe my horse for the sport! Who would have guessed where that would lead and if you said 20 years ago, I’d be working with hooves for a living, I would have laughed and said no way! Grab a cuppa, Check it out! www.thehorseshoof.com

16.01.2022 Its a wild, wet day in Tasmania

16.01.2022 Tales to Inspire: We had an amazing time on the Tassie Tiger Trail - we cannot speak highly enough of Jen and Jeremy. They were amazing hosts, they made us fee...l so very welcome right from the first day. I was given the pleasure of riding Basheer, who was the perfect fit for me. Learning about natural horsemanship and how to bond with the horses with groundwork was enlightening and a great experience. The daily adventures on the bush trails were so much fun, and the visits to the salmon farm and Bakers Beach were particular highlights. Bonneys Inn, where we stayed each night, was such a lovely old building, done up very comfortably. Theresa, our host there, kept us fed with amazing dinners and desserts. The time went so fast, and Im now back at work wishing I could have done this trek all over again. We will definitely be looking at another trek soon. This holiday fulfilled a bucket list dream for me. - Sounds like the Tassie Tiger Trail was the perfect horse riding holiday for Sharon Palmer and her friends! https://www.globetrotting.com.au//tassie-tiger-trail-aust/ See more

13.01.2022 We are priming all the Gem Farm team of horses for our upcoming Tassie Tiger Trail guests. We believe the secret to a successful, fun and safe tour operation is lots of ground work. We love to get the horses thinking, blinking and chewing. It’s super rewarding to see our guests build a special relationship with the steed bestowed upon them for the five day tour. ... Some guests are shocked to realise they will be riding bit-less on the tour. Some are shocked to learn that they will be cantering along a deserted beach which just a rope halter for control or traversing a vertical rock scree to climb a mountain top while giving their horse free rein to pick its way. But it's not about the tack we use on the horses - it's about respect, love and communication that we start with on the ground. We are lucky to have studied with some great horse trainers. Their guidance has helped form the foundation blocks to the happy, healthy & sound Gem Farm team. See more

06.01.2022 What an extraordinary time this is! As COVID-19 continues to create global uncertainty, and our Tasmanian Government have confirmed closure of our borders to travellers, we have made the difficult decision to further suspend all of our Australian Horse Adventures til December 2020. Our immediate priority is to focus on opening up with some sense of guarantee, ensuring the safety and security of you; our guests, and also our contractors, and partners alike. ... At the same time, we need to consider current travel restrictions by each state and region which may impact and influence travellers ability to travel or provide opportunities to do so. We are so disappointed to share this news with you. Over the coming weeks, we will continue to re-evaluate all of our tours, doing the utmost to find ways to run them and keep our special team of horses happy, healthy and sound. Please, please know how keen we are to ride with you again and share our beautiful, unique island. Thank you for your patience and commitment through all this.

06.01.2022 A magic autumn evening in Tasmania. Very quiet except for Daisy and the tractor with hay

04.01.2022 The serious training and warm ups are underway. Managed to twist a few arms to join us in the saddle and head to 41 degrees smoked salmon farm for a quality control check of our lunch spot. Horses, food, tracks and friends did not let us down!

03.01.2022 Nelly Jaehne we have to share your amazingness with Australian Horse Adventures. You inspired, educated and helped our hoof care students understand the importance of groundwork, developing feel, timing and trust. And your demonstrations are mind blowing good.

03.01.2022 This is a very special horse trainer. We love this quote and it resonates with us so much. I do think it would be wonderful if all future trainers spent a little time just contemplating a few horses out at pasture. There is so much to learn by observing their behaviour. Observation doesnt cost anything, and its surely one of the best basics for horseman.

03.01.2022 What have we been up to to beat the Covid black dog? A dapple at endurance again. Nothing beats trit-trotting along scenic sandy trails breathing in the freshest Tasmania air. ...
