21.01.2022 Busy time ahead for our club with a local campdraft and zone campdraft school and competition coming up before our gymkhana so a big shout out of thanks today as a heap of us got together to get our events mapped out and office sorted. Trophies are being organised: 1st prize for each age group this year are rugs. Other trophies are cool too and special ones being organised now. Our cooks are putting on awesome food and you can pick up breakfast when you get there.... Come along for a great Covid safe event. See you there See more

20.01.2022 Lately I have been talking a lot about only asking your horse "yes" questions, which means only asking them to do something that they can do. the more times you... ask a horse to do something thats either impossible for them to do, or something that bothers them and you have to get quite firm on them to get them to do it, the more they lose a bit of trust in you and your judgement. Thats not usually evident at the time but comes back to haunt you in places where you really need them to trust you. In this video I talk about the things I need a horse to be able to do, before I ask them to open a gate. I know some people use the opening of a gate to move laterally, but I like to teach all the movements first, then work on the gate, and the biggest reason for that being the first thing I mention in the video.

16.01.2022 Another great weekend. Danny and Kym Cogill came and led us through some exercises to advance our skill at working both ends of our horses. We worked a mechanical cow and learned some drafting technique. The weekend culminated with a stock horse challenge. So many people said that they saw improvement in themselves and their horses. Our fantastic crew also fed us really well and Sat night camp out was time to grow and renew friendship. Thanks team for an awesome weekend
