25.01.2022 GREAT NEWS FOR EMPLOYERS WANTING TO EMPLOY AN APPRENTICE OR TRAINEE!! The Australian Government has announced that from Monday October 5th, 2020, it will subsidise half the wages of new apprentices and trainees. The Boosting Apprenticeship Commencements (BAC) scheme is designed to support employers to engage more apprentices and trainees and is part of the COVID-19 economic recovery plan.... The new BAC subsidy is in addition to the Supporting Apprentices and Trainees (SAT) subsidy for employers of apprentices and trainees who have been employed since January 1, 2020. 50% WAGE SUBSIDY FOR APPRENTICES AND TRAINEES Under the Boosting Apprenticeship Commencements scheme, employers will be eligible for a Federal Government subsidy of 50% of the wages for a new or recommencing apprentice or trainee employed from today (October 5, 2020). This applies for the period up to September 30th 2021 and is up to a maximum of $7,000 per quarter. Final claims for payment must be lodged by December 31st 2021. The subsidy applies to the first 100,000 apprentices and trainees who are registered.
