24.01.2022 The workshop has had an upgrade of some of the workshop machines, with the plan to upgrade majority over the next few years. Very exciting times, as the high quality work our students were producing prior to the upgrade will continue to improve. This year we have upgraded with a metal cold saw, guillotine, mill, disc sander and mortising machine. Thank you to John Boyd who helped us deliver these with the forklift!

20.01.2022 A huge thank you to Ian Sampson for coming in to teach Stage 5 Agriculture how to shear. Everyone worked together to get the sheep shorn, from dragging them out, shearing, throwing the fleeces and skirting and classing the wool ready for sale.

19.01.2022 From today, residents living on the NSW-VIC border will be able to move freely within the border region. This means that if you have a border region resident pe...rmit, you can cross the NSW-VIC border for any reason. Existing border region permits will automatically be updated with the new conditions and be valid until their date of expiry - there is no need to get a new permit. We want to thank you all for your patience and for keeping our region safe. Visit https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/nsw-vic-border-residents See more

09.01.2022 To follow up our successful March Cash Shoot, Bar-Rook Field & Game stepped in again to put another successful day holding our annual North West Zone School Sho...ot. There was no lying in bed, trying to encourage those students who were competing at this event to get up and out. They were lining up at the office bright and early on the morning of Monday 15th March. Shane & Mick were to be the office girls for the day. Thank you guys for covering for the girls. Thank you Linda, who made it out there and helped the guys out with some extra hands. Thank you to any teachers/parents/members who also put their hands up and helped out in anyway. It is very much appreciated. Thank you for the kitchen ladies who were kept very busy feeding those hollowed leg students. We all know how hungry they can get !! Thank you to the fellows who took the time to set up, pack up, cleaned up the course. Thank you to Jan who does all the chasing of Schools, emailing, collecting details and entries etc.. There is a lot of work to it behind the scenes. The aim of running the school shoots is not entirely for the winning, it is to encourage the students to participate in our sport. Teach them the ways, the respect. It is a sport that is hard to push forth at its best, let alone amongst Schools but lets keep pushing forth. Lets motivate more students/juniors/children to come join our sport. To come enjoy the outdoors, the variance of this sport and the kindred-ship that can be made. With no comparison to last years dismal attendance (due to the COVID ban on school excursions) this year proved way beyond that. Representatives from 20 schools ranging from Geelong, Maryborough, Mildura, Merbein, St Arnaud, East Loddon, Bendigo, Echuca, Cohuna, Kyabram, Swan Hill, Kerang, Deniliquin & Barham were all keen to get out onto the grounds and prove themselves. A grand total of 106 students, who all proved themselves to be very well behaved, responsible and obliging should all be proud of themselves to represent their individual schools. Well done students. The day progressed very smoothly, finishing in an early time for all to depart back, some on their very long treks back home. One shoot off was all that was required to determine all places in Snr Boys Member. Once finished presentations were under way. HIGH GUN BOYS - M. Coscarella (16) Geelong Grammar HIGH GUN GIRLS B.
