10.01.2022 The Barossa Valley Cheese Company is the success of the hard-working Victoria McClurg, who is also a qualified wine maker. After a stint making wine in Bordeaux, France, Victoria found a passion for cheese, the joy in sharing cheese with friends and pairing cheese with wine. When she returned from France to the Barossa Valley, she began making cheese at home in the kitchen with her mum, Frances McClurg. In March 2003, Victoria and Frances opened The Cheesecellar in the main street of Angaston, in South Australia's premium food and wine destination, the Barossa Valley, just an hour from Adelaide. Where we still are today trading Wednesday - Monday 10-4pm.

What a special night 20% of all our sales yesterday went to LCC. Anyone that would still like to give, visit @yalumbawine or @kidsuniteshop to place a present under the wishing tree

09.01.2022 And just like that it is Cheese Day again! Our day of focusing on what the cheesemaker's are up to....! Last week we hinted we were warming up for Christmas... and well, we are now warm and up to our ears in Christmas cheese. The team are making three times a day this week - which only happens in the silly season lead up. It is manic, but at the same time... a great sense of achievement as our little team of Cheesemakers lovingly make our cheese by hand. Pictured here is our Halloumi - a product loved by many... being cut by hand before it is put back in the whey. It is mesmerising to watch the team do their thing - they are very good at what they do!

03.01.2022 Cheese on the whey.... Our maturation cellar is where we store our semi-matured rounds... just like our award winning aged La Dame. It is roughly the size of a squash court and was only installed in our 2016 renovations. You can see it from our shop via the window... and of course watch the Cheesemakers in action on our live stream TV.

01.01.2022 What's tasting good in the Cheesecellar? Barossa Washrind; A small washed rind cheese with pungent yeasty aromas. Flavour and complexity develops over time as the cheese ripens. Perfect with a glass of Barossa Grenache. Pairs perfectly well with Relish The Barossa Shiraz and Blueberry relish
