11.01.2022 Lest we forget. So much is different this year in 2020. There were no packed stadiums or large gathering for the dawn service. No football matches or beers in the pub but still we stood together in silence in our own way. Some in our driveways with one or 2 others, more on balconies, in the back yard and on the couch with a steaming hot cuppa. No matter the circumstances, today is a day we’ll always remember. To all the dads and mums, brothers, sisters, friends and ancestors ...who have served and still do so we may unleash peace in our own hearts, our countries and towards each other. Lest we forget. The first photo is my dad. It shows him having some fun when he was in the airforce. Squadron 460. He served in WWII. On the back of the photo he'd written "Bloody John cut off my head!!!" He'd kept an album of his service around the world so we have been gifted an insight into his time in the war, the extraordinary mateship cultivated, the many countries he was deployed to as well as a look at all the pretty ladies he'd met along the way. The second photo is how it was this year, a candle on an app to shine light in the darkness. Photo third is the Shrine last year, lit up in all her spectacular glory. Our breakfast after own dawn service this morning, in homage to all diggers and the final photo is from the classic Richmond Vs Melbourne football game at the MCG on ANZAC eve. 07.01.2022 I believe having a vision inspires spontaneity and playfulness. It asks you to be present and unapologetic about what you want while being open to explore the possibilities. Following your purpose should be fluid, rather than rigid. It’s the secret driver that helps suspend your disbelief in thinking it can’t be true for you.
