22.01.2022 The majority of our food today is aquired by fighting nature. We use excess chemicals to control weeds and pests, we constantly plow and till the soil destroyi...ng micro-organisms and releasing carbon into the atmosphere and we plant rows and rows of annual monocultures like wheat, soy and sugar when nature thrives on diversity. As a result we have overshot our planetary boundaries when it comes to chemical use and now have less than 60 years of top soil left (when settlers first arrived in Iowa they reported the soil being 8 feet deep, today it is just 30 cm). Thankfully regenerative agriculture is now gaining momentum around the world. Farmers are working with nature, utilising its natural intelligence and producing stunning results. Taking carbon from the atmosphere where it is doing us damage and putting it back into the soil sets off a series of cascading benefits. Billions of micro-organisms spring to life solubulizing minerals that make them bio-available to the plants. As a result, we can’t have human health without plant health and we can’t have plant health without soil health. The healthy soil also holds huge amounts of water rectifying the earth's hydrological cycle which we hear far too little about when it comes to climate change. From cover cropping, rotational grazing and more than a hundred other regenerative practices plus emerging awareness about the 600 carbon sequestering perennial vegetables and trees we can eat, the future of farming is exciting, financially lucrative and healthy for both humans and the planet. Our biggest challenges are changing our mindset and the current architecture of the food system. Films like this go a long way to help change that mindset. Please share this trailer far and wide and support the wonderful Kiss The Ground film which will begin screening in September.

21.01.2022 I know you have done the Living Smart course, I know you liked it . . . . So consider this. Tell your friends about it - especially if they do not live in Perth. This opportunity may never happen again thanks
