19.01.2022 The simple act of saying thank you and all of its power! . We've heard a lot about the effect gratitude has for our own wellbeing and all those around us... S...o taking time to meditate on all those things we are thankful for.... we practiced just that! . Our Yogis got into groups and designed their own salutation of four or five poses to something they would like to celebrate.. all unique and fabulous. Their dedications were then performed to the group ...We had calm sequences, innovative, adventurous and beautiful flows! . We worked through Yoga poses and emotions in the frowning forest, sad swamp and mad mountains... And the only way to get out of these places was to call out all the things we are thankful for! Luckily there were plenty and we soon made it through to the peaceful gratitide garden for some thoughtful craft.......With everyone designing their own leaf for our super special tree of thanks . . At the beginning of class we pulled names out of the hat to become spies of appreciation ...... For the whole hour secretly noticing the wonderful things about people around us.... Loved this part! . In relaxation each yogi then wrote one thing about those they were noticing and then top secretly delivered it to their mats without them seeing .....What a fantastic way to end the class and go out in to the week! 19.01.2022 Want to save money AND cut down on food waste? Make your own stock, it's easy! Collect all your vegetable cuttings (we're talking onions skins, carrot ends, cel...ery leaves... anything!) and freeze them in a container. Keep adding to your veggie cuttings collection and when you’re ready to make stock, pop it all in a large pot of boiling water, add a generous amount of salt and cook for a couple of hours. Voila! Now you’ve got a delicious stock to use for plenty of different meals. And if you’ve got too much, simply freeze the rest in batches and save for another dish! See more

OzHarvest Newcastle is a not-for-profit organisation that rescues excess food which would otherwise be discarded. This excess food is distributed to charities supporting the vulnerable in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Cessnock, Maitland & Port Stephens. To get a food package for yourself, call us on 4947 0031 before 11am on Wednesday or Friday. Pickup wil...l be later that day in the parking lot between 2 - 2:30pm. 15.01.2022 It's NAIDOC Week 2020! This year’s theme is ‘Always Was, Always Will Be', which recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. To celebrate, we're hosting a morning tea with traditional bush tucker this Wednesday morning at 10:30am, followed by a showing of the 2019 documentary, In My Blood It Runs....
