22.01.2022 The cactus are still putting on a show in the GFTF. You can spot these beauties in the Fun & Fantasy section of the garden.

21.01.2022 We are pleased to announce our aviary is now open to the public! There are a few extra rules in place for the aviary; maximum of 10 people in the aviary at one time, one-way traffic through the aviary (entry via play space end), sanitise your hands on entry and exit, and keep 1.5m apart. Come down and visit the birds, they have missed you.

20.01.2022 The spectacular Eucalyptus caesia (Silver Princess) is on display in the gardens at the moment. This Western Australian species likes growing in a well drained soil, positioned in a sunny spot, and also enjoys a low summer rainfall.

19.01.2022 Our Botanical Illustrators have an exhibition of their work on display at the Customs House Gallery in Echuca. Well worth a visit to the Port to see the artworks.

18.01.2022 The vibrant blue flowers of Ceanothus ‘Joyce Coulter’ are on display in the GFTF at the moment. A frost and drought tolerant plant that flowers during late winter. A favourite of the bees too.

13.01.2022 Flowering in the garden and all around Bendigo at the moment, is Acacia genistifolia (Spreading Wattle). This beautiful winter flowering Wattle has creamy coloured flowers and narrow sharp pointed phyllodes(leaves), which provide refuge for a number of native birds. Definitely frost hardy as this photo was taken on a -2 degrees morning.

11.01.2022 The Bearded Iris are beginning to flower. Come and see the beautiful colour display at the garden’s.

10.01.2022 Acacia merinthophora, is a lovely winter flowering Wattle you will find in our ‘Around Australia’ garden. This Western Australian species has long thin phyllodes (leaves) and plump yellow flowers nestled along the zigzag shaped stem.

05.01.2022 Watch a virtual tour of the Botanic Gardens, hosted by our apprentice Claire. I hope you enjoy watching the fabulous production.

01.01.2022 The Echinopsis are flowering! These beautiful cactus flowers can be found in the fun & fantasy section of the Garden for the Future. The picture was taken by one of our horticulturists yesterday.
