25.01.2022 Awesome night had by our ladies teams a couple of weeks back celebrating the end of such a crazy season!! Thank you to everyone involved, players, coaches, managers, senior exec and our awesome wags too! It was a season we will never forget with everyone rallying together to make sure we had teams ready to take the field each weekend!!! Huge thanks to @grilldburgers Darlinghurst for sponsoring our games with vouchers for our best and fairest each week!! We certainly all enjoyed celebrating with your amazing burgers!!! Enjoy the off season!!! Stay safe and look forward to seeing you all on the field again in 2021

21.01.2022 Hey Stix and supporters! Heres a message from ACON if you are interested in supporting their upcoming campaign for Ending HIV: Hi Community Partners... We are seeking community talent to be part of our next Ending HIV campaign. The campaign aims to re-engage the community around the great strides achieved today in the fight against HIV as well as to motivate the community to keep up the pace. Its launch will coincide with Fair Day 2020 and run during this years Mardi Gras festival and beyond. Id love your help to share and reach out to your networks to help us with recruiting guys. We are looking for all types of GBQ guys different ethnicities, different shapes, different serostatuses, different views on climate change (but we wont go there!) who are camera confident and keen to be involved. We are definitely after men from the Aboriginal community, men from Asian backgrounds specifically Chinese and Thai, men who may speak another language and men living with HIV and thats where you guys come in The shoot will be held in a central Sydney location either next Thursday 30th Jan, Friday 31st Jan or Saturday 1st Feb, depending on the availabilities of the talent. It was an absolutely amazing event last year with a small round robin competition with Drag Queen commentary, crowd support and an all round fun weekend away to meet the Pythons, explore Perth and get to know your fellow Bentstix! ... Flights are still cheap at the moment across a few carriers, a few Airbnb places will be booked Im sure so plenty of options to have a great weekend! (Or extend to rent a car & explore the surrounds of WA). A win to the stix 5 - 1 to bring the trophy to Sydney for the first time. 16.01.2022 Happy to report that the Bentstix have all recovered from our incredible night at the Sydney Mardi Gras Parade - we were led by our very own Fearless Goalie in Drag Ms Drag Flick as we celebrated our gold medal champions from the 2018 Paris World Gay Games (Women) and the 2017 Miami World Outgames (Men). Our club has gone from strength to strength and we will continue to ensure that there is a place for everyone in the hockey family, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity #SydneyMardiGras #FearlessChampions

11.01.2022 Have you considered umpiring??? Umpiring is a great way to keep fit, learn more about hockey and earn some extra money, making it a really rewarding experience! The great part about Umpiring is that you dont need to be a Premier League level player to make a great umpire! Many of the worlds best umpires, in fact come from the lower grades, however they have a love for the game and have an understanding of applying the rules!... Currently there are great opportunities for umpires in respect to accreditation, coaching and games to do to learn really fast, both in Womens & Mens competitions. Umpiring allocations are quite often lined up so you are umpiring right after or before your own game, consolidating your time, earning you $50+ for mens games & even $75+ for womens! 08.01.2022 Great day joining the Pythons for their annual Pride Cup competition. Well done to the Black Mambas for winning the 7 a side rounds, and a draw (joint winners!) in the exhibition match with Bentstix and Pythons. Thanks Pythons for a great day!!

08.01.2022 After an incredible effort thought out this challenging 2020 Hockey Season for the first time in Bentstix History we have landed x2 Mens teams in the SHA Hockey Finals. Meaning both teams finishing in the top 4 of their respective Divisions. This is an enormous effort by all involved, week after week taking it to the giant clubs of Sydney Hockey seems to have paid off this season. Both Semi Finals are held this Saturday however due to Covid crowds are not encouraged so i ...know any messages of support on Socials will definitely be welcomed! Very exciting times for the Club!! Lets do this Stixs!

07.01.2022 Its with great sadness that we think the safest decision is to cancel our first training season for the 2019 season tonight. Due to the official weather warnings just about everywhere, the Executive Committee has decided to make our first training session next week, 21st March 2019 and to stay home and Netflix and chill. Thanks to everyone who put effort into arranging car pooling, we do ask that the same arrangements can just be rain checked until next week!... Thanks again and sorry, but we thought we needed the mix of not called too early, but before everyone left home! Stay safe and see you next week! Bentstix Team

Its now fantastic to see our national association publicly supporting the inclusion of all to our sport. We cant wait for the start (finally) of the winter season in a few weeks!

04.01.2022 What a way to finish our ladies season Div 2 brilliant draw awarding them Runners Up for 2020!! Div 3 with an awesome win, also awarding them Runners Up for 2020!! Both these teams moved up a division from 2019 so this is a fantastic achievement by all and a big congrats to our Div 4 team a mix of brand new players and relatively new players they have dug deep all year played well and continue to grow!! Cheers to our own Nat W crowned best and fairest player Div 2 and De...bbie S also crowned best and fairest player for Div 4 both these awards were for the whole @sehahockey comp this season The ladies would like to send huge thank you’s to Kara, Crys and Leisa for coaching this year and also to Elyse for her awesome management skills week in week out.
