18.01.2022 Introducing another Volunteer Team Member Hi my name is Trish, I initially started to volunteer with the Shoalhaven Superheroes through Zumba with Vicki Swif...t. I have met some wonderful passionate people all volunteering to help families with chronically ill children in the Shoalhaven area. It has been a real pleasure being able to give something back to the community where I live and help the Volunteer Directors David Arakie and Vicki Swift, along with all the other volunteers doing much meaningful fundraising. The Shoalhaven Heads River Retreat is a place where families with chronically ill children can have a peaceful short stay holiday. Funds are needed to enable this to continue as the property had to be renovated to meet respite standard and help contribute to the stay costs for these families. The property, on the Shoalhaven River, has been made available by Vicki Swift. We have a great time fundraising and I often get the chance to dress up as the Avatar, along with my other superheroes friends, it takes me a while but I get there in the end Contact us if you would like to volunteer See more

15.01.2022 Meet Rani I volunteer with Shoalhaven Superheroes to give back to my hometown and local community that has given so much to me. The Shoalhaven is where I mov...ed to when I first arrived in Australia, its where my children were born and raised. It holds a special place in my heart and knowing that I can now give back to others in need means so much to me. Currently Shoalhaven Superheroes are fundraising for a Shoalhaven Heads River Retreat for families with chronically ill kids. The property on the beautiful Shoalhaven River has kindly been made available by Vicki Swift. The funds we raise are going towards the renovation, upkeep and covering of some family short stays at the waterfront property. Working with Directors David Arakie and Vicki Swift along with all the other volunteers is great fun. My husband Larry and I have been involved for some 4 years. We have volunteered our time at many of the annual Shoalhaven Superheroes festival events and fundraising activities. Come and join the team ! 03.01.2022 Shoalhaven Superheroes Volunteer Spotlight Meet Annette Stokes just one of the many amazing Shoalhaven Superheroes volunteers Below Annette shared with ...us why she became a Shoalhaven Superheroes Volunteer I enjoy volunteering with the Shoalhaven Superheroes team as it adds another dimension to being retired, as generally you have spare time and its good to help others plus, if you can do that and have fun at the same time it is a win-win situation. Shoalhaven Superheroes dont radically fundraise so there is no pressure to make people buy raffle tickets for the car. In fact most people in a social situation come to us to see why we are all dressed up and what we are doing so that is good. If we are working with children it is lovely to see their faces as we are dressed up as people they have only seen on the tv/movie screen or in a book so thats a lovely thing for them and us. #ShoalhavenSuperheroes #Volunteer #volunteering #notforprofit #communityfirst #shoalhaven
