25.01.2022 Blessed we were in SA for the Federation Ultra Trail that spectacularly took place yesterday. Big kudos for the podium speedy stars, humongous congratulations to all participants and damn Wow to those coming in close to midnight with a full day on their feet. Sweeping the last half of the course and we so adore the grit and strength of these folk that maintain a strong and determined pace into the finish line. The volunteers rocked here as always and big love to this chick, @tam.edwards who raced, then volunteered and then paced close to midnight and always a bundle of gorgeous merriment. 24.01.2022 The Covid Crazy is manifesting itself in all sorts of wild places. The MMI Racing Team were geared and ready for their next epic Adventure Race when they were struck down with a shitty case of CAC (Covid, Adventure Cancelled). Guttered but undeterred the MMI Racing team opened up their local and brought out their Covid Crazy. At close to 3am this morning this crew made their way to the Mount Lofty Summit after moving over 204km along the Heysen Trail from The Deep Creek Conversation Park in a single stage. 17.01.2022 Introducing the Richie Our new running and looking totally awesome always trucker. We got a few call outs, most notably Brett Worley, for another trucker that you can run sweat in. So we went to work. The beautiful picture is taken by our local most awesome dude, Richie Gordon, in the Barossa Valley of a sunrise over the Heysen Trail with the full moon still playing in the sky. Listening to the Trail Running Women Podcast (the brainchild of one of the most awesomely spectacular women out there, Canadian @hilsport55 Hilary Spires) and bouncing between laughter and tears. - Our Peter Bice is the first guy to be featured on the Trail Running Women podcast and it was his admiration for strong gnarly women folk that lead him to the podcast. - Often within a community we make assumptions of roughly knowing people based on glimpses of so...cial media and trail passings. Episode 109 is yet another reminder of the depth, difference and uniqueness each of our stories are. Peter’s story is mind boggling and to know how he miraculously pushed through an accident that should have ended everything. - Peter is a wonderful story teller and his open heart is much to admire. - The Trail Running Women podcast is addictive and insanely awesome. We understand that many businesses are staying open to help make ends meet and to survive. We appreciate this as we are all sinking. However, at BKT-Trail we feel that the only way to appropriately manage COVID-19 is to do all things possible to slow the infection rate. By staying open, even for a few hours, we are in effect encouraging people to leave thei...r homes and to engage with other people, risking further infection. We simply cannot do that, and it goes against everything that we are as individuals and as a business. We dont know if we will survive this as a business, but we will do everything that we can to survive this as a nation. Health, wellbeing and the essential services sector are the priority right now.
