25.01.2022 You need to keep more than just contact information. Record every word-of-mouth referral that you receive from your network who gave you the referral, how it d...eveloped and whether it led to any further business. In developing this good habit, you will notice a few patterns emerge: Which people tend to pass you the most referrals and which referrals actually turns into business. In identifying those who continually pass you business can help you dedicate equal time to generating business for them. The more information you keep in your network relationship database, the easier it will be for you to track your successes, failures, and, keep pace with your goals and relationships.

23.01.2022 I caught up with Alan from Hire A Hubby NarellanVale and they are definitely... Still Open for Business They provide handyman and property maintenance se...rvices, "everything from the front gate to the back fence", to unskilled and busy individuals. They work with customers who know what a good job looks like but cannot do it themselves. They are in their 3rd year in business and Alan got started in the industry when he was 14, helping out his dad (Paul), who is also now his business partner! Paul's been a builder for 50 years and his father before that too (and brothers and cousins!), so plenty of experience and family history there. When Paul wanted to scale back hours and cut down travel and Alan had finished up with Telstra they decided to join forces and build something locally together, so they did! They started the year really strong with bookings 4-6 weeks in advance whilst still maintaining their quick 24hr response times! They've adopted Covid-safe practices and have even launched some new services including a new gutter cleaning service and also expanding to include end of lease cleaning too. Alan is proud of their focus on mutual job satisfaction. Meaning that both the team and the customer need to be satisfied with the completed job or it's not considered finished! Whether it be a gutter clean or a full kitchen renovation the same rule applies. They are looking forward to growing a small local team, getting some more vans on the road and giving back to the industry through apprentice training. Inside info: The name Hire a Hubby comes from the actual words a lady used to get her neighbours husband to do some work around her home. I also found out that Paul is the hire a hubby "pin-up boy" and about Alan's record breaking Line Dancing exploits (but you'll have to ask him about that yourself...)
