24.01.2022 with the upswing in prices for aussie tin more than a few people will be stashing them away as a nest egg ,please do some research on the best way to look after your goods, this is what has happened in the 12 months of the doors being closed on this little number ,container floor is totally gone from termites (even though it had ventilation under )and vehicle now requires a full blast and paint from our tropical northern weather, another 12 months and it would not have been s...alvagable. SO some progress pics of the holden I posted on my private page (forgive me whilst I work out FB)the little GM is now wearing a fresh coat of epoxy after a meeting with our blast team ,some tips to anyone contemplating a resto ,Plan what you want from the beginning ,BEFORE you lift a spanner!When you do pick up the spanners document everything take lots of pics and store them ,label parts in clip seal bags ,keep as much of a parts together eg put original bolts back into brackets once removed ,keep clips on rods etc it could take longer to restore than your initial enthusiasm lasts,pulling it apart is the easiest thing you will do on a resto.Get the family involved where possible as its all time together and there is lots of time to be spent on any car resto.From our perspective we would prefer you to paint strip a vehicle before delivery it saves you money,it makes for a better job and you get to know yourself what really is under that shiny paint,once abrasive blasted ,EPOXY prime ASAP ,with the humidity rising in darwin we are seeing flash rust as quicky as 15-20 minutes on some days .AFTER blasting and priming the real work begins (all sins are revealed) and many have been known to abandon their pride and joys at this point but not for this little number its in good nick and is an easy repairer,please note Bodyline Crash only do the blasting and priming ,we do not specialize in ground up restos of old cars See more

19.01.2022 repairing modern cars is not like the old days , in days past we could pull and beat the metals back into shape but today we have to replace the high strength steels where required and follow the correct manufacturer repair procedures ,what used to be a relatively easy repair is now a much more complex job ,before you insure speak your repairer as not all insurers allow choice of repairer ,shopping for the cheapest policy is like shopping for cheap sea food ..choose wisely
