22.01.2022 Allie the bonsai dog trimmed the branches off the bottom third of this grevillia in the garden. She is looking pretty proud of herself. Check out your bonsais to see if they need a trim. Many species will benefit from a trim to let in the light during winter. Enjoy you time at home to make your bonsais the best they can be. #bonsaiacademyaustralia #bonsaiacademyToowoomba #Toowoomba #Alliethebonsaidog

20.01.2022 Response to COVID-19 is stay at home. Stay at home for yourself, for your family, for your friends in the health system. Plenty to do in the bonsais. Today I sifted bonsai soil. Equal parts Akadama, scoria, and pumice with some charcoal mixed in for good measure. Enjoy your time at home to make your bonsais the best they can be. #bonsai #bonsaiacademy ... #bonsaiacademyaustralia #bonsaiacademytoowoomba See more

09.01.2022 50 year old elm purchased in 2018. Air layered in December 2019 and divided into 3 trees. The original tree in the styrofoam box was repotted this week. It was a big job - the soil was compressed like a brick. Timely reminder that repotting is a chance to untangle the roots, improve the Nebari and refresh the soil. #bonsai #bonsaiacademyaustralia #Toowoomba #repotting

01.01.2022 Sunday in the bonsais. Bought this 50 year old elm tree from Beau a year ago. Bonsai Boon helped me air layer the tree in December. The tree is growing vigorously and the two air layers have healthy roots. Separated the air layers and planted them in 2-4 mm scoria and Akadama mix. I should have 3 excellent trees in 3 years time.
