What is IBD Inflammatory Bowel Disease is an auto-immune condition that causes inflammation along the digestive tract (from the mouth to the pooper ), and is specifically diagnosed as either Crohn's or Colitis - depending where the inflammation is ... Why care IBD is an invisible, though at times crippling, condition that affects 1 in 250 Australians. Symptoms can vary from mild and manageable (similar to IBS) to extremely painful and debilitating (think of your worst gastro ever, times it by 50 and swap poop for blood) Sound scary? it can be!! What can you do? Don't judge people. Simple. No one knows what anyone else is going through, so just be considerate. Most of us have invisible battles, and no one should be shamed for things beyond their control Through education we can stop discrimination
