25.01.2022 While the mechanics were busy running through bike theory our Chairperson and some new friends went out for a sneaky ride at nearby town Collie to check out Trail 7, Adaptive Arklow and Deadcats. First WA government funded trails that have taken our guidelines into the design and construction process. Some muddy puddles may or may not have been abused during the ride. #adaptive #mountainbiking #mtb #adaptiveMTB #offroadhandcycle #inclusion #Collie #WesternAustralia #Australia @ Rays Trail

24.01.2022 Smiles and slight hesitation: no matter how you feel we have a team of compassionate and professional coaches waiting to take you and your family out on their 1st or 500th ride into and through the Perth Hills. We will find a way to make it work, even if its a trot around the beginners skills loop. But for most it's the joy of having access to the outdoors independently that makes everyone's day. ... 22.01.2022 We haven't seen someone so dedicated towards developing a new style of off-road handcycle in Australia. We've witnessed first-hand Dan's wins and losses during the project and are both humbled by the generosity of donations but saddened the project has come to an end (for now). We hope someone can continue the project as it's something that will only benefit those with mobility impairments and give them another option with a range of advantages! We'd like to share a memory of... Dan and Fred during the 3rd Cape to Cape MTB race 2015 where the prototype encountered several major mechanical setbacks. As the BTB crew passed by on the course, we were helpless to assist and could feel the frustration as the protocol design continued to disappoint. On the contrary: to have the bike ready in time for the race, complete multiple stages, have tools sprawled out on the trails while tackling one of the most grueling MTB races in the country was beyond an accomplishment! Despite the let downs, they continued to ride until they couldn't anymore. While the BTB crew raced along we were proud that a West Australian could get a project to the stage it was at. No one else would take up the challenge. Very few had little idea about the difficulties that were experienced and even fewer understood the complexities of both disability and adaptive equipment. The thousands of riders passing by only knew what they could see, but we are confident that it inspired and motivated hundreds to continue their own grueling journey. While it's great that people with disabilities now have access to a range of equipment, we hope people can appreciate how much effort, hard work, skills, money and resources it takes create something out of nothing. Alas, the hard work has been done and we believe the outcome will be worth it if it's picked up by the right team. Frustrations and disappointments aside, there's so much to be proud of - here's to being a trail blazer!!! Advantage Handcycles

18.01.2022 Once again we've reached out to local businesses to get us over the line! Thanks to Grant (and his sexy pose) from Perth Timber Traders for helping us out with some jarrah decking. After building our donation wall at the adaptive trail hub we realised we missed a brick donation. So, we will be making up for it with some nice custom engraved jarrah plaques to go on the back side of the wall. We'll also do a small round for new donors that missed out on the initial wall instal...lation. We'll keep you posted once we have a finished product from our in-house volunteers. #community #communityspirit #attitude #charity #adaptiveMTB

Check out some of his work on his page. Also thanks to Dan and Michelle for designing and picking up the custom frames from Barry at Saffioti steel who did an awesome job with the build at a great price!... Thanks again to Liam from Rotaract Club of Kalamunda, Peter and Kate. Also Calamunnda Camel Farm for the odd missing bits. Getting closer to completing our accessible community pressure wash area. 16.01.2022 Our deputy chair is on point! Help him reach his target and ultimately help us get the assistive technology we need to provide better access to more Australians! "When the rug is pulled out from under rug-rats, or anyone for that matter, Break the Boundary is there to get them on trails and to get major Smiles on Diles! We need more bikes for our hub! Parks and Wildlife Service WA are going to match us dollar for dollar! Please donate, for more smiles!"

16.01.2022 Our 400kg+ rated winching system which independently lifts each adaptive mountain bike into our roof space so that we have more room to move around (and fill up with more adaptive bikes!). The system is operated with a simple electric winch running off an independent battery supply charged by our solar system. Purposely built to be used by someone in a wheelchair. Most of the components were purchased thanks to a community grant from City of Kalamunda. Thanks again to the So...ntag's for donating and fabricating the support beams, pulley brackets and winching mounting plate. Thanks to Matt, Richard from Ample Amp Electrician and Wade for helping install parts and electronic components.

15.01.2022 Looking for a last minute Xmas present? Why not donate towards a flash fundraiser to finish off the year on a high note! Lasher Sport and Push Mobility have jumped on board to help us get an affordable All-terrain Handcycle for our members to trial and use. 15.01.2022 Happy Monday! As you hop into your car or jump on the train and set off to work, take a moment to appreciate what you have, no matter how good or how bad you think you have it. Take a moment to acknowledge that we all go through challenging periods in life. For the person stuck at home waiting to heal or waiting for a cure. For the person stuck on a hospital bed staring at the ceiling wondering where it went wrong. For the person going from one specialist to the next trying t...o find a solution to their chronic trauma. For the person surrounded by a toxic environment with no support or way out. For the person that sees only one solution for a way out. Many of these people come through our doors at some stage in their journey. We help them reconnect with the community, with nature... with themselves. Help us help others so that they too can hop onto the same train as you. Donate towards our boundary breaking fundraiser and help people with some of the most debilitating disabilities and illnesses experience independence and freedom away from their struggles and into nature. https://www.facebook.com/donate/304387460605800/ #disability #awareness #Australia #adaptive #offroad #cycling #trailwallking #trailruning #adaptiveMTB

15.01.2022 A huge part of our ability to establish as Australia's primary charity for adaptive mountainbiking is the decade-long relationship with Rebound WA. They have generously donated the full suspension Explorer from @sport_on_handcycles. This dates back to 2013 when our Chairperson tackled @capetocapemtb, one of Australia's toughest mountain biking races in the country, putting people's abilities in the spotlight. Before adaptive MTB and electronic assist was a thing in the countr...y there was a lot of guess work, problem solving and teamwork. This continues 8 years on. It's getting a few minor upgrades and will be ready for our members and community to access straight from our hub and onto the dirt trails. Thank you @reboundwa! Without your support it would take us a long time to raise the funds for our small charity to buy new gear. #charity #community #gift #adaptive #mountainbiking #MTB #outdoors #disability #inclusion #mountainbike

15.01.2022 Great day up at the hub! Trevor working on a recently donated bike! Em and Justin doing their thing! Good times!

12.01.2022 For those that missed our 1 year anniversary celebrations last month, we unveiled 3 new pieces of equipment soon to arrive. It is with pleasure to say that the first one will be hitting our shores this weekend (also a first in Australia). An official unveiling of the real kit will shortly follow and then it will be available for our members to use (booking through our website)! This would not be possible without the generosity of National Disability Services Wa through Lotte...rywest funding. We'd also like to thank Wild West Wheelchairs for working with the manufacturers Offcarr Wheelchairs to make new adjustments on the design for improved adjustability. This is the Ferrari of trail runners with full suspension MTB wheels and we can't wait to get Perth Trail Series volunteer runners getting more people with disabilities flying through the running and hiking trails! #trailrunning #outdoor #trails #trailblazers #hiking #bushwalking #adaptive #running #WesternAustralia #Australia #PerthisOK Outdoors WA Inc Parks and Wildlife Service, Western Australia Paraplegic Benefit Fund Australia Technology for Ageing & Disability WA - TADWA Indigo Stephen Dawson MLC Volunteering WA HikeWest

02.01.2022 A couple weekends ago we kicked off WA Bike Month thanks to the support of Transport WA and WestCycle with our 1 year anniversary celebrations. A whole month of perfect weather to get out and ride! We unveiled the donation wall with the support of the Honorable Donna Faragher MLC, Matthew Hughes Member for Kalamunda, Calamunnda Camel Farm owner operator Chris O'Hora, Josh from Crisp Landscapes and Maintenance and Liam Staltari - Liberal for Kalamunda. We then moved on to laun...ch our Community Washbay with Matthew Hughes Member for Kalamunda and our sponsor AdventureFreak (long time supporter for ours). We also unveiled the 3 new adaptive mountain bikes and trail runner which will be arriving before Christmas. Firstly the first kids adaptive MTB from ReActive Adaptations in Colorado, Secondly the first joystick operated mountain bike from Quadrix in France and thirdly a full suspension trail runner from Offcarr Wheelchairs in Italy. The new technology has been purchased with the generosity of the local community and their donations, Parks and Wildlife Service, Western Australia, National Disability Services Wa, Lotterywest, Lions Club of Kalamunda. Despite the challenging year we continue to have we've managed to make so many things possible. The facility is in full swing and open by appointment. Everyone is welcome to use the wash bay and take a selfie with their donation bricks. We thank all our Principal and Community Sponsors that continue to motivate us and believe in our mission. 01.01.2022 Massive appreciation to Slav from Better Looking Shutters for generously donating a custom built electric roller shutter to secure our volunteer's work tools. Also a huge thanks AGAIN to Chris and his dad for fabricating and donating the frame for the shutters and extending the workbench (on site!). Since launching our hub in October 2019 we've been able you introduce hundreds in the community to adaptive mountain biking and trail walking. We've also been busy making upgrade...s to or Hub so that our volunteer coaches and mechanics can operate more efficiently and safely. Despite the difficult year it has been for many Australians, including the impact on our services, we have come across many generous Samaritans willing to sacrifice their time and resources for our cause and expect nothing in return. We're constantly humbled by peoples support and can't really find more to say to them other than THANK YOU! It keeps us going to service disadvantaged people. #communityspirit #generosity #charity #donations #BreakTheBoundary #WesternAustralia #giving #Perthisok #PerthHills #Kalamunda #Volunteers
