24.01.2022 The club is hosting a special fundraising day in support of our amazing receptionist, Nicole Hancock and her son, Chris, who has terminal brain cancer. The aim of the challenge is to raise money for Wounded Heroes Australia an organisation that supports past and present Australian defence force personnel. Please note there are still a few restrictions in place that apply when visiting our venue, but know the safety of our members and guests while in the club is our top priority. - Social distancing rules apply and please respect each other's space at all times. - Venue capacity restrictions apply. 07.01.2022 A letter to our loyal Members, The Bribie Island Bowls Club has been a vital part of the community since 1929. We are facing a truly unprecedented situation and we are incredibly proud of the contributions we have been able to make to the Bribie Island community in that time. We have had hundreds of thousands of members, hundreds of Bowling Members and of course, to have funded the great cause that is the Sport of Bowls. We would like to acknowledge those whose lives have bee...n directly or indirectly impacted by the virus. Our thoughts and wishes are with them and their loved ones right now. Unfortunately, the current situation with COVID-19 has now resulted in circumstances which will require us to close our premises including the sport of Bowls. We fully support this decision. The very grassroots of our organisation is supporting the community, and right now, closing is the most appropriate thing we can do. We will, however, be opening the Bottle Shop from 9.00am to 5.00pm from Wednesday the 25th for your home supplies 7 days a week. You will be able to use your pay by points and MyCash for your transactions. We dont know now how long the main Club will be closed for. We have been proud to provide first-class facilities to all our members and visitors, and we look forward to doing that again as soon as possible. We will be in touch with you and will maintain communications on our services, over the coming period to ensure that you are kept abreast of any further developments. Please also know our Staff have been very understanding during this time and we are doing everything we can to assist them with the current changes.
